Oh pfffft, I just copy and pasted your's into paint.net so I could have the same proportions, haha. As for that picture... I feel like it's not quite designed like one of those optical fuckery pictures, but it's still fucking with me. Really badly.

Also, have any people here taken the time to admire how beautifully detailed the map of the Koana Islands is? It apparently took several years. Not even kidding.

Well, you're probably not crazy, but I can certainly agree that your approach to rivers is much better than a bunch of random squiggly lines. I mean, jesus, they're rivers; they have to flow. But of course, that approach is also less easy. Then again, good mapmaking in general is really hard (which is why I haven't taken it upon myself to seriously make one.) I don't know what snowy happy here was expecting when he took up the task, but (helpful) criticism shouldn't be a surprise in the least. Yes, helpful criticism is helpful, but Tim's criticism is anything BUT helpful as of now. Besides, the river system in Coural could work, even if it's uncommon in the real world. For Pete's sake, it's a fictional country! I can have SOME building freedoms. Someone might call it a fantasy country.

With rivers that work like that, I want to know what the magic system is like. It's water. *scientists gasp and write various things down* No, it's not. It's not flowing properly, and the viscosity or density or something is probably off as well which is causing it. I just guessed magic because that might be easier to explain.

And maybe there’s a large Kraken which drifts around it ready to strike on any unsuspecting foreigners. That would explain why Coural has managed to prosper independent of other countries.

The krakens are a well known type of ravenous animal, the most dangerous in the world at sea, comparable in might to the dragons that rule the skies, and they have a healthy population numbering in the hundreds, akin to the dragon population, but unlike dragons, they don't seem to have an intelligence to them. I need to write a new fantasy RP.

But then that’s the beauty of the genre, there’s just so many ways you can take it. Same with Sci-if really. Just hold that thought till I return.

I'm working on constructing an entire language and completely revamping the map. So, Tim, just know that the rivers actually, like, work now, so yeah.
I'm not actually gone. I don't know how that ban works(I originally thought it was IP-based), but it would appear other browsers avoid it. I'm going to get banned again straight away nonetheless, so I'll post the language here as sort of a last post (although it's entirely possible that I'll find another way here).
SPECIAL CHARACTERS:
A'a = Ai I's = Ae (used only for "I") U'u = Iu Y'u = Ye T'a = Ti O'a = Ou O'o = Oi S'ol = Sia C'ax = Cua Y'ia = Yae Na'l = Nil I'an = Iwa Oa'l = Ois (used only for "The") Al'i = Ili (used only for "Is") Ma'u = Mil (used only for "And") Oa'm = Oel (used only for "Are") I'oa = Owa (used only for "My") Li'a = Lul U'au = Aeu Lub'u = Lidi Gal'i = Guib

You're terrible at designing phonotactics. You don't say "t makes a p sound, p makes a d sound and d makes a t sound" when you're creating a language. Rather, you create a list of sounds that you want to be present and, if you're using an already-existing alphabet, you use it as-is and only adjust to remove sounds not present in your language and add sounds not present in the alphabet that you're adapting. Your "sample characters" are stupid and confusing for literally no damn reason. Also, does the entire language, with a population of half a billion, have only one language? Shouldn't a continent of that size have hundreds of native languages, and at least two or three unrelated language families? I know that you're not Tolkien, but the way that you said that it's the language of the island and not the most widely-spoken language on the island just bothered me. Also, if you use a different browser, it changes the IP address. You'll also be assigned a new IP address if you turn off and back on your modem, I think, so I'll just need to ban you a few more times and you'll be gone for good.

Coural basically had two original native tribes on the two main islands (which were the only islands the tribes knew of), which both adopted different languages (which are still alike), while the country also adopted English and the like due to colonization and the close proximity to North America. So it's somewhat plausible.
Anyways, I don't turn my modem on or off, nor do I really have control over it, so it's the browser. Also, you banned me on my current alternate browser (Firefox) but the ban's not in affect anymore, so I don't really know how the actual ban works.
Oh, and by the way, I've been curious about what happened that made everybody heated for a second time after I tried to apologize (it didn't really go well, if you didn't see it). I know that Purring was simply mad at me, but as far as I'm concerned, being mad at someone isn't enough to even slightly justify an IP ban. I'm assuming it had to do with the Google Search thread (which I never got the time to read(before I was banned)).

Forgot to mention that my IRL friend is working on the other language. We'll either combine them or just have them as separate once finished.
Oh, yeah, and the native language(s) will likely be a sort of second language for Coural. English is still the main.
