I don't know.

The equinox is the 21st, not the 23rd, and it's spelt "autumn", not "fall".

No, the first days of the seasons (in the Northern Hemisphere) are as follows: Spring: 21st March Summer: 21st June Autumn: 21st September Winter: 21st December Just reverse the seasons for the southern hemisphere, assume constant summer for those between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and constant winter for those either north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle.

I guess its just the way I was taught in the UK. The UK uses the three month system; e.g. Start of March to end of May is Spring. Australia does the same though in reverse. Most places actually use that system by my reckoning especially in the Northern Hemisphere. The NT in fact does a Wet Season/Dry Season thing rather than the common seasons. Besides if we're going to base it off of equinoxes you have to consider that those dates have shifted due to leap days. Autumn actually is the 23rd while Summer and Winter are both actually the 22nd now. Really that's just another reason why the three month structure is better.

Happy belated first day of fall. *autumn Please don't be a supreme bitch. Smugness isn't the way to go about this. It's both Fall and Autumn, honestly... Like Lift and Elevator. Or Football and Soccer. Chip and Crisp. Don't know why that's so hard to understand.

Don't know why that's so hard to understand. Lift and chip are correct, but due to the fact that "football" refers to at least eight different games played all around the world when you want to be specific I would recommend usage of the term "soccer" to avoid confusion with American Football, Rugby, Australian Football, etc.

If you're going to use that logic with football you have to for chip as well. There are two different things that take the name chip so crisp makes sense. Of course I'm going to go back on that with football though I don't really mind people using soccer there. Don't mind lift or elevator.

Seriously. Stop telling people what is correct and what isn't. That's also coming from the dude who uses "aeroplane" when just about everyone else here uses "airplane". But that's a whole different story, I guess, so I'll leave it be. You have your ways and other people have theirs. Don't go around criticizing them for it.

This whole conversation makes me think back to when my brother saw a FO4 poster in Europe (pre-launch, obviously) which displayed "10/11/15" He got excited, as it was October 7th or so, before then realizing the system of dating is different. November 10th, not October 11th.
And I just vaguely say 'Europe' because with how many bloody business trips he gets sent on, I honestly can't remember where he was at the time.

"Aeroplane" is a French loan word and as such should be spelt the way that it was when it was imported into English, much like how the word "Table" is not "Tabell".

Planes fly through the air not chocolate.
