Okay, so is it bad that I'm American, and I don't really understand this at all. (I'm horrible at social studies, and I hate social studies. I don't pay attention in history class. [But somehow I get A's in it])
But explain this to me, please.

The Patriot Act is a response to 9-11 that basically allows the NSA to write its own warrants and go to the limits of international law on terrorist suspects. It also allows for complete surveillance of pretty much everything outside of baby monitors to find terrorist suspects. It is the number one cause of prisoners being put in Guantanamo Bay. It has done positive things, but the ethics of the act are questionable at best.
