You awaken. For a moment, you feel... strange. The universe opens up, and you become it. You can see stars, galaxies, constellations. They are beautiful, capturing your attention and holding it. Then it all fades away. Another day, perusing the mysteries of the universe.
"What is necessary to achieve? A strong Offense, a strong Defense, Subtlety, or an indomitable Will?"

They consider the options set before them, understanding that each could lead down a different path. But at what costs? It's a tough question indeed, which is likely why it takes so long for an answer to be formed. But at last, it is shouted out: "An indomitable will!"

"Oh yes, a will that can defeat all others. It doesn't matter how strong or how tough you are. David fought Goliath, and won. Partly through intellect, but also through the will to not go down and not to submit."
As you open your eyes, you can see the outline of a shape. It is dark, but a small red glow is always there, always present. Someone is outside, but they do not look threatening. Relaxing, you take your time coming up. Hypersleep is necessary for your race, to survive the oddities that occur when traveling through the Void. If you are waking up, either you will die in a few seconds, or you have arrived at your destination. Hopefully the latter.
"Now, there are things that can break a will. Torture is one such possibility, it breaks people and only sometimes puts them back together. It could be Lust, the taker of instinct and maker of what should not be. Perhaps Loss can, a hit so hard as to break your spirit to continue. The final contender is Death, the releaser of spirits, the keeper of souls. Which is the most dangerous to even an indomitable Will?"

Again, they consider their options. In truth, while they believe envy to be a much better destroyer of will, they recognize that this is not an option. They must choose one of the listed options. All four have their advantages, though a few aren't quite so viable. But they decide. Eventually. "Lust," they say. "Lust is the breaker of wills."
