Conduits Aware

Walking down a street in New York City, Conduit-Omega began reading an email from a college he applied for. Suddenly, a man in an alley called him over. He was dressed like a businessman. Weird for being in Harlem and in an alleyway. He dug into his pocket and brought out a small bag of pills. They seemed to be fluorescent with a bioluminescent liquid injected into them. It emitted a baby-blue color in the bag. He asked Conduit-Omega if he wanted to try one. He agreed. As Conduit-Omega and the shady man in a suit exchanged $20 and a pill, Conduit-Omega swallowed it and gulped down some diet root beer that the businessman had on him. Suddenly, the businessman started running as Conduit-Omega began levitate. The sound of tires screeching could be heard in the distance as the businessman sped away. Suddenly, an enormous bubble surrounded four blocks. Then it happened. It all imploded and broke the sound barrier. People at Staten Island could hear it. Debris and dust darkened the sky and filled the streets and atmosphere around the city. The sound of sirens, screaming and horns could be heard from miles around. And at the center of it all, there was Conduit-Omega, still breathing, although his eyes, previously brown, had turned dark blue and he was flying with a green orb in his hand, just oozing a sense of power.
The Search:
After the explosion in Harlem reached national television, Conduit-Omega fled to Pennsylvania, where he took a flight to L.A. in California. There, he began to see... things. Certain people began to glow, their hearts, he could hear them beat faster and faster as they walked close to him. At one point at a bar, he picked up a girl and they went back to his apartment. Both in bed, Conduit-Omega placed his hand at her heart, and she froze. Her eyes began to have a gray shield cover over them and the veins in her head began to glow purple. Finally, the eyes turned to an orange/blue tint although, it was in a swirl, not a circle. And, the veins had returned to normal. She looked at Conduit-Omega and then she was gone. Leaving only a golden shimmer of light. She had reappeared on the island in the kitchen, passed out.
After evaluating what to do, Conduit-Omega awaited for her to awake and when she did, she did not run, nor scream. She simply hugged him and then they sat down on the couch while they listened to the Walking Dead on AMC. He had explained what had happened in New York and told her that he was the cause of the Harlem Explosion. He also told her about how people's heart seem to glow and beat faster and faster. He also told her how she was like him, with mutated DNA. She understood and suggested that they should look for more people and tap their potential at being something.

The Revelation:
After about a year of searching and gathering "Conduits", the C.I.A., or the Central Intelligence Agency, Homeland Security, and finally, the N.S.A., the National Security Agency encountered Conduit-Omega and his partner. In a contract stating that if they'd recruit more Conduits for a new program that the U.S. was exercising, that they'd wire money into their bank accounts per Conduit. The two agreed and told all of Conduits that they'd activated that they should go with the government to train themselves with their newfound abilities. And so they did, on an island in Hawai'i. They were sent to Halali'i Lake Academy for the Supernatural, where they had a large variety of resources available for training.
