KD:C... Absolute fucking masterpiece and I am obsessed. Has anyone here played it?
Pseudo-realistic RPG set in early 1400's Bohemia, and most of it is actually historically accurate. Your character obviously isn't real, but most of the characters and ploy are. And the gameplay/combat... fuck! I usually hate games like Dark Souls that are super hard (not that I don't like a challenge. I make it a point to try to beat every game I play on the hardest difficulty) but unlike DS, KDC isn't hard for the sake of being hard. It's hard because it's fucking realistic; You're the illiterate (until you find a scribe to teach you to read) son of a blacksmith who has never used a real sword. So ofc you're gonna struggle for a while. And even after you get some experience and master your weapon of choice... it doesn't matter how good you are, a 4v1 fight is still gonna be hard AF unless you're being attacked by unarmored peasants.
Oh God, and speaking of armor... it acts so realistically! I kept struggling with the leader of this bandit camp wearing full-plate (in hindsight I probably should've tried bringing an axe or Warhammer, but I like my longswords) and he just kept stomping me even when I would get good hits on him. BUT, his helmet was open-faced, so I got lucky once and pinged him between the eyes, which instantly dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Because regardless of your armor, an arrow to an unprotected face is an arrow to the fucking face. I had hit him in the head before, but never to straight flesh like that.
That's how realistic this game is, and thats why I love it so much.
