It is currently September, 2022. I made my first post on the forums in August, 2012, and wrote some of my first RPs around September/October 2012. The 10-year anniversary of a lot of shit from here is coming up; Land of Ferinox will be 10 years old in I believe February. A lot of the old Tikobe ISRPs I was in (Crestfall, Fallen Ascendants, etc.) will have their 10 year anniversaries shortly after that. I ran my first d&d campaign sometime in 2013 as well (though that's probably closer to 9 years than 10). Everyone else, pick some of your own notable milestones from the early days of this community - it's probably about a decade back by now for you too.
There has been so much shit that has happened between then and now. And I've told a lot of interesting stories with you guys, between then and now.

Hello- checking in for my regular 1-2 year visit as I procrastinate working. Not really any milestone, just reminiscing about time.
It is pretty peculiar in hindsight how a majority of my social interactions used to be through Roblox, whether it be the forums or other friends I made, and how easy it was for this to evaporate when I got wrapped up in life.
I sometimes feel bad about not saying goodbye or wrapping things up with the roleplaying partner I used to have (nobody on the Roblox RP forums)- I could technically could now, but it's a little awkward given I haven't spoken to them in years. I guess this applies to the people here in general.

It's not necessarily a time milestone, but I learned how to write in proper English because of the forums bullying me for using i instead of I, and "Rules: Must use good grammar". While I hated it back then, I kind of appreciate it now because I used to struggle a lot with English grammar. (Then again, I was also 10...)

Holy crap, Crestfall is nearly a decade old. That's a jaw dropping statement.
I have to say it's pretty nostalgic to think of the past. I remember that I originally came up with Crestfall from a sandbox game on Roblox. I was making a flying ship and came up with this whole adventure for it that I obviously wouldn't be able to do in the sandbox, but not knowing coding I also couldn't make it into a Roblox game. Meanwhile, I had started to do a few forum RPs on RPF after wanting to see what it was like after having spent some months in roleplaying games (I remember that my favorite was something about elemental swords lol) and came across ISRPs from others and thought "Hey, why do I make this story idea into an ISRP?" and now here I am, laughing at it later. People in my writing clubs/classes always told me that I tended to go overblown and unreasonably complicated with my stories, and looking back at Crestfall not only were they right but I love it. It has so much mess to it that it shows it's own character.
My biggest achievement in the RPF though is simply just sharing these stories. I often come up with ideas and I never act on them. The first book I ever wrote was all the way in third grade (It was called "Lake" and it was a terribly bad knockoff of Percy Jackson but with Christianity instead of Greek mythology lol) and the only one who ever read it was my mother and after that no one else saw anything written by me, not until I started Crestfall. I had so many works on there, some good, some not, but I'm kinda glad to have had all of these successes and failures with you guys.

That’s kind of crazy to think about. I’m pretty sure 2012 was my first year on the forums as well. Maybe a little sooner, not completely sure. But you’re right, a lot has happened between then and now.
Pokémon World (Creative’s big RP) started then and took on a life of its own with so many people getting involved over a long period. It was always funny to me that some people around the forum disliked it, simply because it was big. But there were a lot of fun stories told in the campaign.
As there was a lot of fun stuff done around the community. I think a lot of people, at the time and now, liked to dunk on stories. And don’t get me wrong there was a lot of cringe or dross. But as a place to tell stories or have a bit of fun, well it was fun for what it was.
I spent a lot of time in Tim’s campaigns as well. And found out I was a curse as they all closed down around me.
But now I think I’ve found my own creative space. I have more fun telling stories these days and I’m not sure how much of that is thanks to this group. But ah well, stories are fun. be creative, use your imagination. Don’t let it go.
That last bit may have been to boost my word count. Everyone else made big posts.
