This weirdly comes up more often than I would've thought, and I always forget the term for it, but it's super interesting how common they actually are and I'm curious of any examples you may use or know of.
A proprietary eponym is basically when a brand name becomes so large or recognizable that it's synonymous with the product itself. Such as any soda being called Pepsi or Coke, tissues being called Kleenex, photocopies being called a Xerox, or brandy being called Cogniac. (Those last 2 are ones I found out about the last time it came up. I didn't realize either of those were actually brand names, haha)
So... What are some that you know of?

"Frisbee" is a brand-name. I've seen people use "oreo" to refer to those knockoff discount oreos. Before the pandemic, skype was synonymous with video conferencing - nowadays Zoom has become the same thing. Google is a verb; I google things frequently despite the fact that I've probably used Google's search engine at most five times in the past two years.
