I'll be doing a bit of backpacking for the summer, and I'm curious about if anyone has any suggestions for things that are worth seeing, just, anywhere in America.

I already gave you my answer a long time ago, just make sure you pack plenty of water and sun screen if you go through Arizona. Summer can get brutal here.

I'm not sure where you are going or what you want to see, so I'll give a few random suggestions.
If you want an attraction town, then Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge, TN is worth a visit.
If you want a beautiful coastal, New England town, then visit Portsmouth, New Hampshire
And if you want a city setting, I really do suggest visiting Chicago. It's one of my favorite cities.
