I've had issues for years, and while my depression is getting better, I also have other issues as well, and it's had major issues on school work, especially my freshman year of college. Anyone here have any experience with therapy?
I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth a try I think.

In my experience, therapy is a scam at best and generally makes the situation substantially worse. That said, the sheer number of people that I know who suggest that I try therapy seems to indicate that my experience is not universal.

Good to see both sides of it before I spend (and potentially waste) any time trying to go into it.

If you do see a therapist, make sure to look for reviews on the therapist and things of the sort before beginning. Do not be afraid to stop going if your therapist makes things worse or even just feels like a waste of three hours a week.

I have never tried it, and nor has anyone else I interact with. I couldn't tell you what it's like, or if it works. What I can say from what I've heard from acquaintances in the past and online is that it's a sort of "different strokes for different folks" type deal. It's certainly an option worth exhausting, but is not guaranteed success of any kind.
Go in with low expectations but an open mind. Don't view it as a miracle cure and it can't be all bad.

therapy is generally useful, even if your therapist is only saying things you already know. my only experience with therapy is the hospital-mandated kind but i think you should give it a shot
