I was up all night researching it and looking at the wallstreetbets subreddit. I don't have much knowledge in stocks, just basic knowledge of how it works, but I think this situation is really funny in entirety. Mainly because
1.) this is something that could definitely be in history books
2.) I'm pretty sure this whole thing started as a joke
3.) The investment into dogecoin is definitely a joke, but it's amazing how dedicated people are to trying to make dogecoin's value $1
4.) Seeing a subreddit gaining recognition and popularity is somewhat surreal. Never thought I'd wake up and see my local news talking about reddit
It's a shame that companies are trying to restrict users from making decisions with their own money when it comes to these stocks. I don't want to really get into "money politics" right now though, I just wanted to talk about the humor of the whole situation. What do you guys think?

Rich people don't like when poor people get money. That's the extent of what I can say since the lens I've viewed this from is primarily political and you've mentioned not wanting to get into the political side of it.
I find it pretty funny that people betting against a company got screwed over by reddit though lol.

It's hilarious that redditors are causing billionaires to sweat, but it's all risky. Based on my limited knowledge of the stock market and its history, this isn't the first time it happened, and while it's not a bad idea, there's a big potential for legal issues depending on how the court sees the language used on that subreddit. Phrases like "hold the line" could get them in trouble as some sort of colluding, which is partially why apps like Robinhood are doing what they're doing (although we all know that it's more so because they make money selling info to hedge funds).
Then there's the whole rich people can bail themselves out of almost anything thing, and usually that hurts us in the end.

The fact that there will now be serious historical events occurring simply because a large number of people have a bizarre sense of humour has to be one of the most postmodern things that I have ever heard.

I mainly wanted to not talk about politics on my part cause I was afraid of saying something inaccurate since I'm new to how the stock market works. But you're right, it's funny watching billionaires throwing fits over this

NOTHING WILL CHANGE IN THE END
RICH PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE BEING RICH
POOR PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO BE POOR
REDDIT WILL CONTINUE TO BE SMUG RETARDS ABOUT EVERYTHING
