So we all know most unpopular opinions aren't actually unpopular opinions. I do have some controversial music opinions though, and I've definitely gotten responses out of people that were more than mildly disagreeing.
Also, obligatory "these are only opinions" statement here.
-Queen's only good hit song was Crazy Little Thing Called Love -The top three bands of the 60's in this order are: 1. The Zombies, 2. The Beach Boys, 3. The Beatles -The 80's, while it had its good music, was the worst decade of music in the past 60 years (I'm not sure of you refer to the decade as singular or plural) -McCartney was better than Lennon -Rap is better now than it was 20 years ago -Mingus Ah Um is better than Kind of Blue

I agree with your order of '60s bands aside for third place. Love should be in 3rd place, I'd move the Beatles down to like 7th or 8th.

Actually, sorry, I agree that the Zombies and the Beach Boys are better than the Beatles. I'm not sure I'd give the Beach Boys 2nd place there either. Also, while Oddessey and Oracle is far and above the best psychedelic album to come out of Britain, the fact that the Zombies only have two albums should unfortunately weigh against them in comparison to other more prolific bands - the Beatles have more good songs than the Zombies just because they have far more songs, even if none of their songs are better than like the top 5 Zombies songs (which would tentatively be, in order of best to worst, She's Not There, Time of the Season, Tell Her No, Beachwood Park and This Will Be our Year).

Also about the '80s music I agree that it wasn't the best for chart-toppers but it was a golden age for indie music. C86 is awesome and nobody can ever convince me otherwise.

I've started coming around as I used to hate the 80s. Part of it was over exposure from my parents, part of it was my love for 90s/00s music (grunge, britpop, shoegaze, and pop punk bands all seemed to hate hair metal). I still don't like hair metal, although some consider Guns 'N Roses a hair band and they have some decent stuff. I dislike a lot of the production stuff as well (those snare drums with that gated reverb is awful in my opinion). I do enjoy a couple of pop songs now, and I like the typical new wave/post punk stuff.

Yeah, let's leave hair metal out of this. If you want good 80s music, you might like The Pastels, the Vaselines, Talulah Gosh, Television Personalities, Mission of Burma, The Pogues, The Flatmates, Kate Bush and Beat Happening, just to give you a broad swathe of the kinds of '80s music I listen to, which seems to be similar enough to your taste that I think some of these will be applicable.

They were Heavenly before they were Heavenly, and if you don't know Heavenly, then know that Calvin from Beat Happening recorded a song with them called C is the Heavenly Option which might be my favourite song of the '90s. Also I can't believe I forgot to mention The Smiths. They're great, even if Morrissey's a bit of a cunt.

The Smiths are pretty good, though I'm more of a basic The Cure kind of guy (Disintegration is amazing).

I go back and forth personally between if Disintegration or The Head on the Door is my favourite Cure album, but I also quite like The Cure. Anyways I'm going to bed. I'll leave you with a very unpopular opinion, which isn't originally mine but is one of my friends and honestly I'm iffy about the opinion: - Leonard Cohen's original version of Hallelujah is better than Jeff Buckley's cover

John Lennon was a terrible human being and his songs were always the worst, imo. But in comparison to all the Beatles, I enjoyed George Harrison the most with Ringo following second. The only unpopular music opinion I can think of rn is that: - I think ACDC is terrible - Boston >>>> Journey - Green Day is cool and all, but if you listen to their albums, most of their songs sound the same. The same case with Metallica.

The best Beatle is Pete Best. It's in his name.
