Wild how long ago all of this actually was. I started with the community back around 6th/7th grade and I'm a college freshman now. I honestly thought this place would be completely dead by now, so I'm glad it has somewhat of a life.

this site is nostalgic to say the least it makes me somewhat miss the days of the RPF (even tho all i did was post out of content posts and be quirky lol) i accidentally stumbled upon this again after my friends and i were talking about roblox for some reason, and the conversation just kind of sparked a random memory of this place existing. So of course I had to stroll down memory lane Now I can't help but check this site everyday cause of that nostalgia feeling. I kinda get excited to see a new notification pop up? Idk if that's weird, but I get so excited to talk to the RPF community again, it's like seeing an old friend there's a part of me that wishes that this site will be somewhat more active again, but i know that most of us are in college/in the workforce, rotting away to work and zero time (at least i am), so it's nothing but wishful thinking, unfortunately

As for time, COVID has put half of my classes online with asynchronous schedules so I have plenty of time.

My classes are all online, but I have so much to do in all my classes...and I picked hard classes (ofc) for my first year . My major is in Computer Science, so this year I am taking the first Computer Science Class, and I'm doing Calculus. I'm struggling really bad in calc, I'm gonna have to retake it again. It's not even that I'm bad at math, it's just that I'm a hands-on learner, and just watching my professor solve all the problems on a video doesn't do me any good. Then I'm doing a minor in Japanese. I love my Japanese class and it's probably my favorite part of college rn, but it's a lot to learn, lots of HW. I think I do an AVG of 10-15 different HW assignments in that class a week.

Eyy, I'm majoring in computer engineering, but I'll probably end up switching majors. I realized at some point before moving here that I no longer wanted to be an engineer, and I've progressively lost interest in science and technology. I still love the collaborative and design aspects of it, but I don't enjoy the other stuff anymore. Also, I feel you on the calc thing, I was an honors math student but Khan Academy and Organic Chemistry Tutor have become friends.

This place is more active during breaks, I've noticed - expect a surge of activity around Christmas-ish, and again over the summer. So stick around 'til then and you'll probably see more familiar faces (that said, the last roleplay here died at some point last year and it's never been active enough since then to justify trying to post something again, in my opinion).
As for the calc thing, I have a job as a calculus TA lined up for myself for next semester, and I got an A when I took calc II (integrals and Taylor series mostly) and skipped ahead of calc I (derivatives and limits), so feel free to let me know if you'd like a hand - I'd be more than happy to help.

I might be back around then, who knows, as it stands I'll seeing a lot of my in person friends a lot over break (late night drives really hit different.) As for calc, that's pretty cool. I'm doing alright with what I'm doing now with ka and oct, it's more a matter of self discipline.

Also, if your textbook has questions and answers in the back of the book, do the questions and check the answers afterwards. If there's something in math that I have trouble with, I find it's easiest to just do about five or ten questions until I'm confident in it, and if that doesn't work, then I'll try and go to office hours or whatever.

Also I feel that on the test thing. We just started implicit differentiation and I didn't pay attention when my professor was explaining at all (over the summer I was just diagnosed with ADD, and I keep forgetting to take my medicine), so I'm about to have to learn that before class tomorrow.

That said, if you don't understand a question, feel free to ask for help immediately. For instance, I'm taking a number theory class that abstract algebra was very explicitly not a prerequisite for, but one of the questions was "Let p be a prime. Prove that Z/ pZ is a field." and I'm just like fuck you textbook, I couldn't tell you the difference between a commutative ring and a field if there was a gun to my head, I'm not taking abstract until next semester. So I skipped the question and did one that I understood.
