Do you want to know something funny? At college, I've been writing paragraphs at the length I normally have. One of my best friends in real life has a job as basically a writing tutor (free for all students, paid by the school), so I asked him if he could proofread one of my essays. He said that my paragraphs were too short.

I always had longer paragraphs for essay writing though it is a different, more formal kind of writing.

The writing part of academia seems to live in its own world separate from the world around it; literature should be accessible to more than the people who have the ability to focus on paragraphs that last a whole page.
