This community is highly inactive. The forum is dead. There's no longer any OOC in the forums at all (all of it happening on the shoutbox), and the RP I'm in, Fantasy RP, has become extremely inactive as well. I remember when I was a kid there were always conversations going on in the various threads of the RP forum; it felt like as soon as I finished replying to one thread I had two more to reply to, whether RP or OOC. For the past two years, I wouldn't have needed to check this forum more than once a day to keep up with anything that's going on.
I won't quit the forum. I won't say "fuck it, I'm out and never coming back" one day, close the tab and be true to my word in that regard. That said, I suspect that I will eventually just forget to check the tab; reset my internet browser and not open it back up again. Undoubtedly that's what has happened to many of those who have left here. When that happens, I'll probably come back every once-in-a-while to reminisce about my childhood friends, but I know that when that happens this community existing on this forum will be nothing but memories in all our minds. My college starts soon, and with that I'll be busy for the first time in months, and probably busier than at any other time in my life. I've found other online communities these past few months, but with college, I'm going to finally have an offline community to call my own as well. That will undoubtedly make me unable to check here as often as I would like, and it would much more easily skip my mind.
All that being said, I don't want to lose these friendships that I've had for literally more than a third of my life. I'm making this thread an announcement so that everyone can see it and know how to contact me, and so that even if this forum dies, if someone who's already left wants to contact me, they can. I am accessible through discord, Bannanachair King#6748, where I mostly talk with a few other old members of our community and people they've introduced me to. If anyone has any other preferred way to keep in touch with me let me know, and if anyone here is active in another internet community that you think I would like to know about, let me know that as well.
I love all of you guys; you've been my friends when I was going through hard times, and stayed by my side even when I was being an absolute shit to all of you (to say "sorry" for having been an asshole in the past would be too little too late, but I am truly sorry for just the person that I was five years ago). No matter what the future holds, I'll always have fond memories of you guys from throughout my teenage years.

Yeah, sorry about not posting on Fantasy in a while. I've been nursing my little sister ever since she came back home from back surgery. I'm working on a post right now.
Don't use Discord anymore but I'm installing it right now so that I can join in.

This is surprising. Must admit that I saw the thread title and you were the last person around that I thought would be behind it. We all know this place is now nothing more than a place where one or two of us occasionally post. That’s no ones fault, it’s just how things go. I would say ‘the writing has been on the wall’ but the walls fell down a long, long time ago.
I’m glad you’ve managed to connect with people in other places and that you have college ahead of you. I wouldn’t say anyone is really holding on to those old days anymore. I haven’t in a long, long time honestly. Of course I still come here but as you say it’s nothing real substantial anymore. My problem with OOC was never the lack of threads, it was the lack of discussion within the thread. It got tiring saying something and getting no response, so I kind of just stopped.
There’s just things around here that I enjoy enough to keep me coming back. Besides someone needs to turn off the lights when everyone else is gone, don’t want to rack up an unnecessary power bill.
I’m on Discord, I don’t really use it much but I am there. I will post here until people drift away. Thing is there’s always time to check a tab.

I personally have no plans to drift away; this post is for just-in-case... But, at the rate things are going, probably eventually. Maybe there's a year or two left here; if that's the case, then people might come back and the forum will become more active. I doubt that. Most likely the remaining five-ish active people will stop posting one at a time, or their posts will become more spread out over time, leading to essentially the death of the forum.
This post was really more of a just-in-case than any declaration that I will become inactive any time soon.

Yeah, we’re inactive everyone knows that. I think it’s just a busy period for some people though. Tikobe listed his reason here and I’ve had a busy few weeks myself.

Yeah. I'll be starting school very soon, I don't want to do too much of Fantasy RP without Leggo and Tikobe, and I think Leggo might have started his basic training like he said he would, just earlier and without being able to get us prior warning.

It's not that; it's that I only have so much storyline planned for any one character before they start interacting, and they will start interacting soon. Well, soon in terms of the number of posts, not in terms of the number of days. I could give you a filler storyline just to kill some time, but that adds a whole extra complication that I don't like, and the storyline itself wouldn't even be that great (see: Othan's bandit-hunting misadventures).

It did land at a time when people were getting busier again. Obviously Tikobe hasn’t been around since, but he seemed to have other commitments come up around the same time. Leggo was in the same boat really. Those things are just life.
Add on to that we had been slowing down anyway, that’s kind of why you wrote this thread, and you have us come to a standstill for RPs like Fantasy RP.

I think it’s just people splitting off and leaving. It’s realistically the same problem we had here. People get busy and stop talking or there are arguments between conflicting personalities. That’s just how it be.
I personally prefer a forum like this because it can be easier to track individual conversations which is nice when you’re living in a different timezone to most people.
That said I don’t mind Discord.
