I have less than two weeks before I submit my college applications and the supplemental essays are killing me. Those of us here who are currently studying in college or university, what tips do you have for these essays? I need to condense complex thoughts and ideas and emotions into little 250 essays about why I'm the right fit for the college that I'm applying to and there's just so much to write. The stress is piled on by the fact that I'm applying to some fairly prestigious schools (my long-shot is Carnegie Mellon) so all my shit needs to be absolutely perfect or I won't get into the schools that I'm applying to.

Be concise and precise. Get straight to the point and condense your sentences where you can. As long as you’re clear and address all of the criteria you should be fine. That’s all they ask. They’re not looking for your life story, they’re not looking for what you did at your fifth grade disco. They’re just looking for the relevent information that pins you as their best candidate.

?
My college didn't have anything like this.
Granted, I'm in a community college located in the ass end of nowhere, but still.
