I want this place to be active with a number of RPs and ISRPs. To encourage people to join RPs that they may have otherwise been unaware of the existence of, I came up with an idea: Much like how the Rules thread is visible on every board as an announcement, I will do the same to active RPs that are accepting new members. I will also do likewise for the main signup threads of ISRPs, but not for the individual threads. As an example, if Tikobe were to repost Beating Hearts, the main thread would be made an announcement, but threads like "Beating Hearts [Tim]" and "Beating Hearts [Duck]" would not be made announcements.
If you want your RP thread announced like this, just tell me. If no posts are made over the course of... A month, maybe? I'll consider it inactive and remove it from the announcements. If you want to close your thread to new joiners, tell me and I'll remove it from the announcements. I'm hoping that that will encourage people here to post more RPs and will encourage lurkers who come on occasionally to check out the RP threads that they otherwise wouldn't have seen, and maybe even get them to join some.

Oh yeah, by the way, the poll's going to be up for a week. Simple majority wins because I can't figure out how to implement gerrymandering on proboards polls.

I say no. The people who want to know which RPs are active can very easily check the RPing boards to see what's been posted recently. Adding active RPs to the announcement bar would just create spam on the top of the page for everyone. It's unnecessary. We don't need it.
If you really want to have an announcement saying which threads are active, why don't you just make one thread, listing each RP that's currently active, and editing the list every week or so in case anything's changed? That would create a lot less clutter, and it'd be contained conveniently in one small space. Plus, you can add the status of each RP- Open, Active, Full, whatever. It's way better than adding a bunch of unnecessary threads to the universal announcement box individually.

I think I like Purring’s idea better. Gives those looking for an RP a place to look at what’s available.
