All it takes is just one younger brother who decides to kick you into a table and start beating you and then all of a sudden the otherwise good day where you managed to beat your dad in a card game that he's bad at and read a chapter of a book is ruined.
Does anyone have any tips for dealing with assholes like that? Aside from the obvious "don't instigate them" (honestly the next time I see that bastard I'm considering instigating him as far as he'll go just so that I end up in hospital and he ends up in jail, though I don't even know if he'll need any instigation for that to occur), does anyone have any advice for not letting assholes bring down your whole day?

if this is your little brother we're talking about you should beat his dick off. not like, sexually. but literally. smack his ass till he can't make kids anymore.

How much younger? I’m not asking this to use age as an excuse (it’s not, that behaviour sucks from anyone) but to understand the difference. If he’s under 10 then you would need a different approach than say if he were 15.

He's 16, and taller and larger than I am.

He's 16, and taller and larger than I am. At 16, don't instigate. Most countries have laws that significantly lessens the punishment that those under a certain age receive. Also, it'll cause severe problems in your family if you do that. Trust me, doesn't matter how bad the family is, even if you don't like them it'll cause a really bad headache having to deal with that drama. Not gonna ask why this happened, but for now avoid him entirely. If he's in a room just either ignore him and walk past as quickly as possible or turn around and don't start a conversation. Dealing with him directly isn't gonna accomplish anything except for making things worse for you.
