So, I've been good friends with the daughters of this one family in our community and my sister who is still in high school with the youngest recently told me that said youngest doesn't believe that bears are real.

I told her that youngest was joking, to which my sister promptly replied by saying that this girl was actually serious. I still believe that it's a joke, but I looked it up to see if there was a case made against the reality of bears.

Found nothing.

How about you guys? Do any of you know why bears aren't a thing?

Considering that I've actually seen bears with my own bare eyes, I'd believe that they're real. I can't bear stupidity quite like that, and can barely believe that she's being serious.

She was ending her freshman year of highschool when I graduated and I was in the class of 2016 so I'm sure someone can solve it. I'm just too lazy.

Bears are things that drop off of cave ceilings and eat human flesh from the inside out.

And yeah, tim, I think she's joking, I just wanna make sure that there is no one seriously arguing that bears don't exist.
