Some of you have probably never had enough alcohol to get drunk before, so here's a description of what three glasses of wine at 14.5%ABV feels like if you weigh 56.5kg:
My head feels lighter on my shoulders My cheeks, feet and lips are numb, but not all three at once. When my cheeks are numb, the rest of me isn't, but then my feet become numb and my cheeks regain all feeling. Every stupid thought that normally comes to mind takes an active effort not to put into motion, and you get more of them. You lose depth perception, and often take a few more steps than normal if you're walking to somewhere, so you need to take a few steps backwards in order to be able to navigate properly You lose the ability to control what you say, and become a lot more talkative and a lot more stupid I lose the ability to be consistent in my writing: I change the subject of my sentence regularly even when it should be the same from sentence to sentence If there's music and other people nearby, it sounds like they're singing along to the music Despite what it otherwise sounds like, it's actually a good feeling

In case you can't tell by this thread, I'm slightly drunk.

that's interesting, after a couple of ciders or glasses of wine ( though to be honest not many teenagers bring wine out with them) i just get tight chested and anxious if i'm people i don't like, if i'm with friends i get allot more confident and think i'm allot more funnier than i actually am. out of curiosity, what wine were you drinking?

A French shiraz, though I don't know where in France it was from nor what vintage it is. I did see that the ABV is a bit higher than average, and I might have poured slightly-larger-than-normal glasses. Also I'm slightly underweight (176cm and 56.6kg, if you want to calculate my bmi for yourself).

Oh, I forgot to mention the best effect of alcohol:
If you move your head really fast, your vision is delayed. If you move your head really fast, the image that you see is the same for about half a second and then it moves to where you moved your head. It contributes somewhat to dizziness, but it's also really funny.

That sounds fun to play with but also kind of surreal.

Like, have you ever been on a bus and you notice a spot of dirt on the window and you stare at it cross eyed to check out how cool two spots of dirt look? No? Just me?

I drank a lot of wine and vodka on Christmas and Christmas Eve, but I pretty much felt none of these things. It might differ with specific effects from person to person. But generally you'll probably feel way more confident and yes, a little dumber. Personally, I just feel really laid back and more outgoing, daring, whatever. It feels really nice, to me. But there'll also be the times where it'll just make me feel a little nauseous and put me incredibly on-edge (usually that's when I drink very little, it's weird).

"I lose the ability to be consistent in my writing: I change the subject of my sentence regularly even when it should be the same from sentence to sentence"
I've gotten this before, but only when I... FELT drunk. I felt drunk (or high) one night, and decided to try writing something. That, along with my conversations, stopped making sense. I'd be halfway through a sentence when I'd realize what I'm saying changed vastly and no longer made any coherent sense. I had nothing to drink that night, though.

I had a lot of very alcoholic wine in a very short amount of time on Christmas, and I got up to 0.093% blood alcohol, or something in that range. Yeah, drunkenness is a good feeling, and it makes interacting with people easier. It doesn't make me stupid, though, nor does it make me make stupid decisions as is often portrayed in television and movies: My senses were blurry, but I was still in control of lots of my decision-making.

By the way, it's the senses becoming blurry which is why you're not allowed to drink and drive, and it's the fact that drunk you is still you that's why you're expected not to drink and drive.

Okay, this time my legs kept falling asleep and the corners of my vision became dark and I only had two glasses (but I had the last glass very quickly). You people who have only known sobriety do not know what you're missing.

The only time I ever felt slightly tipsy (basically couldn't really keep still and had a smile on my face for no real reason) was when I lost a couple rounds of a card game where the punishment was taking shots of tequila.
Never been drunk though. I don't want to, and I guess I have a pretty good tolerance.

Happy birthday to me! Three and a half glasses of a Hungarian wine called Covfefe that was dated to 2012 and is from the town of villain and is at 15%ABV produced no more noticeable effects than two glasses of it. I think I have a low tolerance for becoming drunk, but once I'm drunk, I can last for a long time before becoming more drunk.

Damn drunkards... Also, you should try mead, Tim. Basically the same as wine but using honey instead of grapes to feed the yeast. Since there is no need for grapes, meaderys typically will flavor bottles with other fruits, such as raspberry being a common one.
Hell, I made a batch of basement mead once, lmao. Made 2 gallons for roughly $30.

Ben, I need you to come to the big Bannanachair meetup that'll happen in a year or so, and to bring a couple bottles of your homebrew mead.

My family is more tolerable when I've had a few glasses of wine and they say that I'm more tolerable when I've had a few glasses of wine, so that's a win-win.
