Tomorrow I'm going to draw some maps, I think. I ended up only drawing the map in my head. I now have a map, but it's in my head and I don't know how long I can keep it there for.

I know very vividly what I want from a map. I'll try to use inkarnate or paint this evening, and if that doesn't work, I'll need to try to steal a couple hours when I'm home alone to do some map drawing on paper.

I've been thinking, and I think that this may be the last RP that I'll write for a while, maybe for even a few years. It's not that I don't have many ideas; I have plenty of them. It's that writing another RP wouldn't have any benefit for me - if this dies due to inactivity then anything else that I write will be resigned to the same inevitable fate, and if it survives I think that it will satisfy all of my roleplaying desires for ages to come. As such, I want to make this RP my magnum opus of RPs, so to speak. I will continue writing it and updating the OP for as long as I think that the RP will survive (though once it starts I'll focus more on the story of the characters than the worldbuilding), but I won't make a new ISRP or RP.

The RP has (finally) started! It'll always be open to new joiners, but this is the last chance to get off on the ground floor. The adventures of Alfred Melling and Othan Mallowater have begun, and it's a matter of time before more characters made by Duck and Tik begin their own adventures. Orevod, Eredal and Elusia are the three kingdoms where RPing is currently going to be taking place, although there will be more later once I finish writing them up.

I'll be using this thread now to discuss what I want to update the OP of the RP with, so that there's more detail to the world. My to-do list for now is as follows: By the end of this month- I want to write up some detail about Dragons in the Races section as chapter 2.4 of the OP. This will have to be the first thing that I do because dragons are very quickly going to play a role in the storyline of Othan Mallowater, and
- I want to write up brief detail about maybe a half a dozen other, much more minor races. Maybe a paragraph per race in chapter 2.5. I have quite a few things in mind, some of which I've mentioned before. Spider-People who live in the Spiderwood Forest, various types of undead, Gnolls, Minotaurs, Harpies, Yuan-Ti (snake-people who I'm stealing from D&D because I'm so very original) and maybe some kind of lycanthropy will be included here.
- I want to finish writing up Kraken Island so that that theatre of the RP will be playable. This one's not particularly urgent as I already have a lot of playable areas and the only character that I know is planned to be on Kraken Island soon is Tikobe's wizard character, but we're working on his Faerie Knight character now so that should give me time. I still want to do this one as quickly as possible, however, simply due to the fact that I had wanted it done by the time we even started in the first place.
- I want to write up some of the combat mechanics so that we can actually do fights with dicerolls and everything.
Within three months- I want to start describing some religions. I do not like what I've put down so far at all and will start from the beginning, but expect at least one religion to be written by the end of the month.
- I want to write up a proper calendar system or two, probably connected to the religions, but also relating to the history that I've written.
- I want to begin work on the languages. I don't expect to have a full set of conlangs, but I would like to describe the extent of certain languages and at least describe their phonemic inventories and some basic linguistic and grammar rules for them.
- I want to finish describing Sorcerers and Warlocks in the magic section (chapter 4) of the OP, and maybe split it into three different chapters rather than it just being one huge essay.
- I want to write up a couple more locations, based on what people find interesting and what's important for the storylines of the PCs. Places that I'm thinking of writing up soon-ish are The Far North, Yhendorn and The Towers, but I might also (or instead) do other Western Emuinian kingdoms like Vrelon, Legia, Traketus, Oyinid and Slairis or I might do different places in central Emuine like the Cavelands and/or the Riftlands, or I might even do the Trade Cities of Eplune. It really depends on what you guys are interested in and what turns out to be relevant to the storyline.
- I'd like to take a couple of the races that I'll describe in chapter 2.5 and write an entire chapter about them, especially if they become relevant to the storyline.
Do you guys like this plan? Is there anything that I should do sooner, or something that I haven't thought of that you'd like me to add to my agenda?

Set up on the table is a game of Thaira, a two-player game played on a tessellating triangle board. The board is ten equilateral triangles per side, with a variety of pieces that move in different ways set up on the triangles and the corners where six meet. The objective of the "edge player" is to get either a knight, a noble or his king to the far point of the board, and the objective of the "point player" is to kill the enemy's king. Knowing Raethus, he's probably reading a book about Thaira strategy right now in order to try something completely new. I kind of want to write up a full set of rules for Thaira now to add to the OP, but I'm really busy with schoolwork.

Do you guys like this plan? Is there anything that I should do sooner, or something that I haven't thought of that you'd like me to add to my agenda? So I'm going to be very busy over the next few months and probably won't actually get around to writing much of the rest of the world this year. I have some stuff from here already written, but I want to change my approach so that I'm instead working on fleshing out the regions of southwestern Emuine that I've already explored in the OP: Orevod, including Mallowater, Ostcliff and Galbror; Eredal, including the capital city Belgate, the Spiderwood Forest, the Truqolp Mountains and the Nubarb; Elusia, including the Nubarb River, the Duchy of Datha (assuming that that's still where Duck wants to put his nobleman character), the Duchy of Ayomar and the County of Arlomon, and the Kraken Coast; and Argolon, which I found particularly difficult to write initially but will hopefully be easier to flesh out. I might also do brief writeups of other kingdoms like Traketus and Vrelon, but I doubt I'll need to go to those two kingdoms any time soon in-RP. In addition to fleshing out the locations, I also want to flesh out the cultures a bit more. I have an open question, though, for everyone who still posts or lurks on Bannanachair: Why didn't you join my RP if you didn't, and why did you if you did? I know that Happy just doesn't like Fantasy, as he's mentioned before, but I'm pretty sure that Benzo is a fan of the genre, for instance. Duck and Tikobe, was it just out of habit that you joined a fantasy RP made by me, or do I just keep consistently writing RPs and worlds that manage to resonate with the two of you in the same way that Tikobe's ISRPs are all based around concepts that I keep thinking are really awesome?

I joined for three reasons:
There wasn't anything better going on. I mean, happy had his things but I don't know what it was there was just something unappealing and slightly boring I found about it. I mean, I'm sure it's a good RP, it just wasn't something that I'd like.
The second reason is just simply the amount of character freedom. Most rps have the roleplayers be slightly insignificant. Sure, as a group the roleplayers actually do a lot, but when they're on their own there's no advancement or anything. While, yes, some of the character that could be made would be in the insignificant group, I have a noble, Duck's making a noble and you just told me about Leggo, and those are some powerful characters that have the potential to do quite a bit without needing to be in a group. While I was originally critical of the variation in roleplaying this would cause, it came out to be very appealing and worthwhile.
Final reason, you kept pushing and helping with Othan's cs. Honestly, I would've just said that I'd have a cs up soon and then forget to do it. Don't misunderstand, that doesn't mean I didn't have any interest, but the amount of information I needed for the cs was quite a bit to just make up on hand. If you didn't keep on pushing me to make Othan's cs then Othan would've never been made.
Once more, I will stress this doesn't mean interest was lacking. I mean, you've voiced interest in the ISRP I just made, but did you make a cs? No. Does that mean I think you weren't interested? No. These things happen.

Tikobe summed up my reasoning greatly.
Having the ability to start as whatever we wanted within the limits of your world made the RP very appealing. I started with a ship captain to test the waters but also because I wanted somebody in a position that wasn’t the normal villager. Also gives me the chance to effect the plot in a very different way. I’m looking forward to making my noble, I hope you push me with that. The only thing delaying that is writing that CS, I was hoping to finish a couple weeks back but haven’t even started.
I’m also on a bit of a Fantasy high at the moment. I’m writing one, DMing, and want to continue that high through this. I’m looking forward to player interactions, when they naturally occur. But yeah, you just happen to make RPs that interest me.

Here's a badly drawn map that's far from permanent and mostly just for me to show roughly where I'm thinking that things are. Tikobe, Duck14 and Leggo, all three of you might be interested in this. I do not like my coastlines at all, especially the southern coast. Vrelon should be further north, Argolon should be slightly further to the east, Elusia should be longer in the north-south direction than it is and the Spiderwood Forest should be much bigger. I'm also unsure of how big Eredal should be compared to Orevod, and maybe I'll change the angle that Orevod juts out at slightly, but Orevod is so relatively small that if it weren't for Nizeston they would not have stood a chance at coming close to a tie in the Galbror Wars/Crebehl Wars/Orevod-Eredal Wars.

Do you guys like this plan? Is there anything that I should do sooner, or something that I haven't thought of that you'd like me to add to my agenda? Okay, coming soon is going to be the long-awaited update to the RP which I'll just call the Dragons and Krakens update for now. I've added two paragraphs on dragons and two on the "demonic races" the last time that I updated the OP, but this time I'm going to be finally finishing up chapters 1.6, 2.4, 2.5 and maybe also 1.7 (which would be The Towers instead of The Far North), 5.3, 3.1 and/or parts of 4, depending on what I feel like. When will this update be out? I don't have any clue. I'll try to have it up before Othan first interacts with Nizeston, which will likely be shortly after his trip to Castle Shan. That means that I'll want to have it up hopefully before the RP hits page 14 or 15. I also want to greatly pick up the pace at which we're RPing. If possible, I want all of us to try to do a post a day. If 24-ish hours go by from my last post and other people have replied but you haven't, I will have replied to them by then. If everyone else has replied, I will try to reply ASAP. I'll also increase the pace of RP after we're done with these introductory bits so as to not run into the problem that Land of Ferinox had where we spent a year RPing a week. I want to get into the action and I want to complete storylines instead of just starting them. Duck14, Tikobe, Leggo, I'm tagging you three so that you're aware of this important announcement.

That said, if anyone feels that I've written my description of either race to be too similar to what Tikobe's written, I'll do my best to change it.

I don't really intend to add in minotaurs this time around. It's just humans, amarzi, harpies, erruin, dryads, wi'wyn, djinn (Basically I renamed things like corpses and tree that were possessed by spells into djinn (Especially since I added in a djinn character who literally acts like he's a genie)) and maybe some elves.

If you really want, even though it'll be awkward considering the setting is a human empire filled with supremacists (With supremacy from both humans and harpies, surprisingly), I'll still permit you to roll any race you want, regardless of whether or not I've ever made a race like it in the series. The only limitations are that you can't roll a djinn or one of the "Five Monstrous Races" (The races made by the Wylduns (I forgot to mention them in the list, but yes, they'll naturally be involved in the ISRP)). Even then, you can make up a variant race of one of those "monstrous races" and roleplay that instead.

I think that Fantasy RP might have some of the best in-character writing that I have seen of any RP I've been in. I know that it's certainly my best work, and Tikobe, Duck and Leggo are all of exceptional quality in it, going above and beyond anything that I've seen on ROBLOX. And that's especially impressive for Leggo, who had been on a several year hiatus from roleplaying as of rejoining with the character of Jonos Dawburn.
Basically, I'd like to think that you'll enjoy lurking and reading it even if you're not joining. And for those who are just lurking and reading, howabout a more objective opinion on whether we're actually good at writing or if I'm just biased because I'm involved in the RP itself - were stories like those of Mosocron the Nocturnal and the Battle of Treehold enjoyable to read? How about the recent "wacky dream adventure" (as Duck called it) that Othan went on? Am I good at creating a sense of character and world, or am I just a shitty amateur writer being pretentious and nowhere near as good as I think I am?

I've written 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and about half of 2.4. This update to the thread seems like it's going to add about 3,000 or 4,000 words to the OP. Depending on low long it takes until Othan Mallowater's storyline requires me to update the OP with information about dragons I will definitely also have 5.3 and maybe also a religion. Before going on to immediately to Yhendorn and the Far North like I had initially intended I'm probably going to write Traketus and maybe also Vrelon next. Whether they'll be in this update (which will be up by the end of August) or a future update I don't know, and I'm going back and forth on that. I've also renamed the eastern continent from Adatha to Atera so as to avoid confusion with Datha, Elusia.
