Does anybody else here play Europa Universalis 4? It's really hard and complex and it'd be cool to talk about strategies and favorite countries and stuff of the like.

I have it, but I mostly play CKII and Stellaris. I have about 15 hours logged on EUIV as compared to about 300 on CKII.

I played it several times, but it was far, far too complex and frustrating.
Usually I try and fail to play as England. Every damn time I war Scotland I end up in a war against France and then go bankrupt or something along those lines. I got tired of that, played as Prussia, got bullshitted by Poland when I tried warring it, then switched nations to Austria and took a bunch of Prussia. Suddenly literally everything started rebelling in my other regions. I put down a few rebellions, but they just kept coming. And eventually, because for some reason I owned Belgium, that rebelled and I couldn't take it back due to the fact that I lacked a navy.
TL;DR EU4 triggers me and takes way too much learning and attention that I don't have.

Funny, because I've only been playing it for a few months and I understand almost every single aspect of the game. I always find Castile hard even though it's for new players. Why? Every time you try to annex Granada, Morocco immediately jumps on you and murders you.

You controlled Belgium because, historically, until the 80 year's war (or whichever one it is that had William of Orange) all the low countries were part of the Hapsburg Empire.

Every time you try to annex Granada, Morocco immediately jumps on you and murders you. I find smaller countries easier to play. I had a good game going as Austria, consolidating the HRE, and then the protestant reformation happened and I got more schoolwork to do, and then a couple months later I tried playing as Venice and honestly, Venice is easier to play in CKII than in EUIV, but I guess that makes sense, as the entire timeframe of EUIV represents what was historically a time of decline in Venetian history in real life. I just never really had the chance to get into the game; every time I tried, school would suddenly get more busy, and I wouldn't be able to make time for it, so I had more good memories of CKII, so I played more CKII as a result.

Oh yeah, and I have the El Dorado DLC, which allows me to create custom nations. Pretty sweet.

I just got HOI4, and honestly, EUIV is my least favourite of the Paradox games that I have.

I just got HOI4, and honestly, EUIV is my least favourite of the Paradox games that I have. I'm hoping to get it soon. I eventually want to build up to having all of Paradox's conquer-strategy-ish games (Crusader Kings III, Europa Universalis IV, Hearts of Iron IV, and Stellaris). So far, I'm doing okay.

I thought that the ban finally worked and that you had given up. Well, I know who all those lurkers were, now.
