The Hidden Crown (Sign-Ups)

Hey everyone, I'll be making a roleplay (my very first roleplay on this site! ) called The Hidden Crown.

Lore
Year 1215
King Riculus of Timetotia was on the run. Assassins all wearing black cloaks and hoods from the enemy realm were chasing him. All the assassins wanted was Riculus's crown, so they could bring it back to their king, King Theyarin, and Theyarin could forge Timetotia and his realm together, and he would rule all of it.As Riculus ran, he spotted a chamber just behind some thick vines. He ran through the vines into the chamber and took off his crown, polished it one last time and sealed it in the chamber, and continued running. 
Year 1219
When Riculus was in his castle one day, proudly sitting on his throne, Theyarin's assasins snuck behind him and plunged a dagger into his back. That was the end of Riculus. And the crown was still in that very chamber from 4 years ago. The assassins just wanted the death of Riculus, not the crown this time. Riculus did have an heir, but well, his son got killed by the assassins too.
Year 2017 (Present)
Locals of Timetotia had gathered in a cave, talking about the Crown of Timetotia and if someone should go and get it to restore their kingdom and inherit it. Only the bravest of the locals applied to go to find the Crown. They all thought they would make a good leader... they didn't know of the challenges they would face, what they would have to overcome... their chances of survival were low.

Any weapons, but not too violent. No machine guns, knives and swords are okay, pistols are ok, but nothing as violent as a machine gun please.

You can use a knife to disembowel and to flay people. I've never heard of a machine gun that can disembowel and flay people. Shouldn't that make knives more violent than machine guns?

To be fair, a bullet from most machine guns could easily tear off flesh and probably an arm.

Oh yes, I don't doubt that, but the whole point of guns is a quick and efficient death. It's rather hard to intentionally flay someone with a machine gun, just like how it's pretty hard to accidentally flay someone with a knife. Sure, you can do nasty things with a machine gun, but for the most part those things aren't intentional. If you take someone's arm off with a knife, though, you can be certain that there was malicious intent behind it and that it wasn't just a stray bullet.

Okay I don't know too much about weapons but this is just a roleplay. I'd like it if this got at least 1 sign up, not just a discussion about knifes and machine guns.

So I have a few questions about the world and storyline.

Why is the crown owned by Riculus called the Crown of Timetotia? Shouldn't it be the Crown of Riculus? Or is there a longer, more storied history of the crown involving someone called Timetotia, or was Riculus the king of Timetotia, or something else I'm not thinking of at all?

Why are the characters trying to find the Crown of Timetotia? Does it have magical properties? Is this one of those "whoever finds the crown shall inherit the realm" type scenarios? Is it an ancient artifact of great renown, and though not inherently valuable, if the characters find it it will lend a lot of credibility to their skill as treasure hunters?

What are the major political entities at this point in time, and what's the recent history of the world? Are there any wars going on at the moment? Is the kingdom that Riculus was the king of still around, and if so, what is the internal political structure like? Can I have a map, however shoddy and thrown-together it may be? (Here's an example of my own cartography skill, in case you're wondering how professional I want your map to be).

Is everyone a human, or are there other fantasy races like Elves and Dwarves? If there are other races, what are they? Is this a more free-form RP where we're allowed to create new races for our characters on a whim? Is there anything specific I should know about your interpretation of the classic fantasy races that may be at all different to the classical interpretation of them? (For example, are your elves slightly taller than Tolkien's elves?)

What's the technology level like? You said that both pistols and swords are allowed, so I'm picturing something vaguely 17th century where flintlock pistols are the pistols that people will employ, but I want to be sure before I write my CS. Likewise, I'm assuming that the swords are swords that are the contemporaries of flintlock pistols: Sabres and whatnot, primarily.

Is there magic? If so, who can use magic? How does magic work? How is magic perceived by people, rich and poor, magic-users and non-magic-users? Is magic feared? Are magicians respected members of society? Are there organizations of magic users, universities and guilds and such? Are magic-users granted government positions?

What are the gods like? Is there a god or gods? Are there multiple religions in this world? What are the personalities of the gods, and the histories behind them? Do the different religions get along well, or are there conflicts between them? Are any religions illegal? Why or why not?

That's all the questions I can think of for now, but if I can think of more, I'll be sure to ask them.

It's called the Crown of Timetotia cause Riculus was the king of Timetotia, a magical realm.
They are trying to find the Crown because they believe they will inherit Riculus's power to perform magic.

The politics in that world are like of ours, there's a president and a ruler. Their world was around for a long time, and it had been there before planet earth was created. In that world nobody really knows of history, they only believe in the future and the present. Riculus was the very first king, from 5000 years ago.I cant create a map, too much work for me.

There are only Humans, Animals, and Elves. The elves in this have blue skin and are about 8 feet tall, they fight with either sword, pistol, or bow.

There is no technology. They use magic as their Google Maps by creating a map in the sky using a spell called the "Navigatus Spell". There are modern pistols, but swords and knives, weapons like that, are pretty much from 16-17th century I guess..

There is magic. If I have enough time, I could do a thread saying what spells magic-wielders in this RP could use... there is good magic and bad magic, one must train 10 years to learn to use magic, it is usually performed by the rich and the talented.

The characters can believe in any god or religion, whether it be made up or real.
