To escape the reach of the government is no easy feat. If you break a single rule out of their list of strictly-enforced laws, there's no escape. You'll get forced into labor, or tortured, or sometimes executed.
But one thing is for sure: they don't care about anything else. They let crime run rampant in the desolate ghetto-filled cities and towns of Cascadia. They let swathes of beautiful pine tree forests wither and die in the face of massive manufacturing-trade factories, complete with smokestacks that billow a toxic mix of poisonous gases.
It's a mediocre life living in the ghettos of the capital city, Byzantua. The downtown area is divided into a financial district and a luxury district, where the rulers of Cascadia reside. Then, as you move away from the center of the city, things start getting slowly more dilapidated. At the edge of the city, all that's left is a few grimy farms and shacks that can fall apart if someone pushes the wall over.
Until now, there hasn't been a proper uprising with any more then a few followers, but when the government banned planting trees anywhere within a 50-kilometer radius of Byzantua around a month ago, the citizens snapped and started putting together secret plans to overthrow the Cascadian government and start a new, eco-friendly world.
And it all starts here: November 21st, 2███. The government will be sending in undercover agents to thwart the rebellion. So trust nobody. Be aware.
And stay vigilant.

Rules:
(I know this is BC and we're all proper roleplayers, but I mind as well outline the unique rules so that this RP is easier to understand.)
-WHEN A NEW DEVELOPMENT HAS OCCURRED OR A NEW MAJOR EVENT IS STARTING, I WILL ANNOUNCE IT USING AN OoC POST.
-Don't die too early in the RP, as the rebellion hasn't gained steam yet and therefore is undetected. And, yes, you can die in this RP. Nobody's immortal!
-The uprising doesn't have an official name (yet), so it can just be referred to as 'the rebellion' (or other synonyms for rebellion).
-Cascadia is a nation that sits in the Cascadia reigon of Canada and the U.S (obviously), so adjust your roleplaying to match this environment (colder tempuratures, pine trees, specified wildlife, etc.)
-There isn't any single ruler of Cascadia. Instead, there's a group of officials that all work together on running the country (obviously not very well), so it'd make sense to just refer to them as 'the rulers'.
-Expanding on the rule above, the point where the names of the rulers are revealed is when the rebellion gets to that level of operation, in which the actual taking over of Cascadia is enacted.
-The weapons in this age are mainly the same as modern weapons with the bonus of possibly some futuristic upgrades. That'll be explored more in the actual RP.
-The same goes with vehicles.
-There are laws in Cascadia. Follow them while you're acting like a citizen, or you're toast.
And, speaking of the laws, here they are!

CASCADIAN ENACTED LAWS [LastUpdate01/12/2023]
NEIPF Adress: 02.32246.2500120
-Do not oppose the rulers of Cascadia. Violators of this law will be met with severe punishment.
-It is prohibited to create your own "energy-efficient" power system for your home as of 12/25/2020.
-Conscripted animal hunters are to kill their target with no remorse. Failure to abide by this rule will result in being fired from the aforementioned hunting job.
-Planting trees within a 50-kilometer radius of the capital city of Byzantua is prohibited and failure to abide with this law will result in severe punishment.
-Any felonies committed in any industrial factories that involve the shutting down and/or destruction of that factory is against the law and results in severe punishment.

Factions:
REBEL (Can Recruit):
You're part of the brand-new unnamed uprising against the Cascadian government. You're opposing the government and any authorities who work for them, which as seen above will result in "severe punishment", otherwise known as death. For the time being, avoid those people and trust nobody unless they have proven themselves to be innocent.
GOVERNMENT (Can Recruit):
If you play as this in the RP, it does not mean you are one of the leaders of Cascadia. Instead, you are one of the government's many agents who work to find any rulebreakers. See a rebel? Shoot them on sight. Faliure to do your job will be met with severe punishment.
CITIZEN (Cannot Recruit):
You're just a normal obedient citizen in Byzantua. Either faction mentioned earlier may approach you and attempt to recruit you to work for or against the rebel cause. Be careful out there: if you get caught up in a battle between the two, you're dead meat.
