that's because skills depend on how much time and effort you put into them, and not so much how long you've had the opportunity to hone them

God I fucking hate it when people do this. You're fishing for compliments and nobody cares.
A child is better than you at playing the fucking piano. So what? Go out and play it some more until you're as good as him, instead of wasting you time with a fucking worthless forum post.

That kid's not just good at playing the piano through practice alone. I know people your age and older who say they've played the piano since the age of five and they're not this good. This kid's a fucking prodigy. Do not try to compare yourself to prodigies, it makes everyone feel miserable.
I did not mean to say that he doesn't practice, he probably spends at least five hours a day playing the piano to be that good and not require sheet music for all of that, but he legitimately has natural talent.
