Whelp, while we're talking about futuristic death devices; I just learned that, if used like a magnifying glass, the screens of most rear-projection TVs can fucking ignite thermite... Let that sink in a bit.
Not that that is futuristic, I think rear-projection is outdated at this point, but I could see Fresnel (Is that right?) lenses or similar being used in some sort of weaponry, if they're able to cast ~3,000 F just from sunlight.
