And alts. And how it would work- How it's been done, and how it could be done.
We've had a ton of stories based around the RP community over the years, my favorite kind being the ones with some sort of unification between online and actual person. In the signups for these stories, you will often see a display of one person signing up with several different accounts- for example, Tim and his entire army of alts. Once the story gets rolling, you'll usually see each alt act as their own separate being, with no notion that they're actually the same person aside from maybe a joke or two.
In all the stories like this I've seen, that's been the case. But how would that work? Does one consciousness split up into as many separate minds as there are alts, or is it cloned? Do they have different bodies, but one mind?
Why have different bodies at all? I think it would be much more fun to have a story where one person has to pretend to be all of his alts and try not to have anyone suspect that they're the same person- maybe they do a terrible job at it and everyone knows, or maybe they don't try to hide it at all and yet hardly anyone suspects a thing.
I am, of course, not planning to write a story at the moment, but if I ever write another story about the community, this is an idea I will probably use, and other people are welcome to do so as well.

That's actually a pretty interesting (and funny) concept.

Stories about the RP community have always been shit, because the people who write them are always fucking terrible at writing

Everyone else has been pretty "meh" or outright terrible

I once tried to write a story in an attempt to subvert this trope by presenting myself as a madman with split personality disorder but I never got past the initial outline and a handful of scenes here and there.
