The metal clasps seemingly vanish into thin air. You get up, look at the words on the wall, and realize that it's your puzzle.

"The message there is one word, scrambled into an unintelligible string using various methods. Decode it, and then repeat the word into the PA, and then you are free to go to the next puzzle. There is no time limit."

You don't have to get through any puzzles just by using memory. Use translators, decoders, and text files on your computer at will to help solve the puzzle.
Uh....there aren't any other rules. Except...don't be annoying? Yeah.

Travis thought to himself but nothing was coming to him at the moment. He thought some more. He realized that the first bit was binary. He hated binary, so it took a while for him to compute. A...

He presumed the next letter was a "u" then T... he pondered on the last bit. A bit frustrating to him to solve if it's a word as "autnotamo..." then he slowly regained confidence and spoke into the PA. "automaton?" Not sure if he was correct.

Apologies if I'm not replying. Once again, I'm on a trip and don't have many devices to work with.

"Correct" sounds on the PA, followed by static.
"---Now you need to figure out how to get out."

A distinct crack appears in the wall and a small flashlight or something of the like drops from the ceiling and lands on the table.
Then the lights conk out, and you discover that the light is revealing invisible ink on the wall.

(So the lights to the room are incandescent?) He grabbed the flashlight with his left hand before doing anything else.
