Who's the best president that America ever had? I do not mean who would be the best today; that would invalidate a number of them given their historical mindsets (Andrew Jackson was a pretty effective president who did lots of good things like eradicating national debt but I doubt he'd be a good president today due to his views on race relations and native american reservations). Rather, who was the most effective president for the time that they served in office, and who had the largest beneficial impact to the modern world?
I bet my vote's going to be an unpopular one, but I'm more than willing to defend him to his detractors.
