In general I'm not a fan of Black Library, because Games Workshop gave them a bit too much flexibility within the lore that it completely contradicts some of the well established lore. I'm all for flexibility, but a Guardsman beating a Chaos Space Marine? To put that into perspective: that's like your run of the mill average joe stormtrooper killing Yoda with no trouble. So basically what happened to 98% of the Jedi in Revenge of the Sith?

If there is one book I think is complete shit is Flesh and Iron. It was obviously a Vietnam book that was hastily set into the 40k book to capitalise on the uber popularity it had in 2008. The author was summarily fired after it was found out he had literally copy pasted huge blocks of text from an Iraq War memoir. It was disgusting really. That still sounds better than those Ender's Game spinoffs about Bean. In other news, there's going to be a new book about Bean, which is also a direct sequel to Children of the Mind.atleast it'll be over- apparently that book is the last one

Those were clone troopers who one, had the element of surprise, two, overwhelming numbers, and three, were trained from birth to be soldiers. I'm talking about a random conscript storm trooper.

the only "hard labour" i'm experiencing is your lack of fashion sense I don't buy into fashion trends, but I'm not stylistically stupid; as a rule of thumb it's a good idea to buy something that would work sixty years ago and will probably hold up sixty years from now. You do, just like 200 years late. Thrift shopping is a god send skill if you don't mind sewing shirts to your size either. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's bad.

knowing where to buy cheap shit is a good skill It's a terrible skill. Buy fewer clothes but of higher quality. Instead of buying three shirts for fifteen dollars each buy one for forty five and I assure you it will last significantly longer. Hey arsehole I'm poor.

I'd thought that the discussion was on new merchandise. If you take thrift stores into account you can spend $20 on a barely-used suit that probably originally cost over $200, then have it adjusted for $15, but the risk is that thrift stores often don't have a good selection.

Come now, Tim We all know you've been robbing stores for years "This is a stickup. Put all your neckties and captoe oxfords in this bag or I'll blow your fucking head off!" "Sir, do you actually intend to rob us with that arming sword?" "Yes! In fact, if you don't shut your fucking mouth and give me the neckties, I'd be in my right mind to unscrew my pommel and end you rightly!" guess what i drew it (finished drawing it) changed some of the dialogue slightly to make it fit better as a comic but yeah enjoy

The point that it tapers to should be in the centre instead of along one of the sides, basically. Beyond that you could just say that it's heavily stylized.

That's a god damn backsword, not an arming sword Nice job on the silhouette though I tried looking up a reference but I know nothing about swords so uh what's the difference Arming swords are basically the stereotypical knight sword, (hence their modern name, knightly swords). They are double-edged, were used primarily during medieval times (where they saw wide-spread use) and have a rather normal guard. Backswords are cavalry swords, like sabres, except not curved. They're single edged, were used, as stated earlier, primarily by cavalry, such as the Hussars, and had knuckle guards (those guards that jut out in front of the handle and protect your fingers.) tl;dr The main different is that arming swords are double-edged and backswords are single-edged. Edit: Tim explained it less like shit. Thanks.

not gonna lie, i've never found it easy to draw swords. this helps though; now i know how to do a straight sword that actually looks like a sword instead of some weird bendy dagger

I was talking about how you said it is a terrible skill to know where to find cheap shit. Besides you only talk about suits like that's all you wear so I don't know if thrift shopping is the best thing for you lol. You can find plenty of good shit in a thrift store if you don't think yourself as a 1800s dapper.

the thrift shops near here almost never have anything good; it takes hours to find something decent that fits well enough

You gotta find out when they restock. Usually it's around Sunday or Monday.
