spoiler: it's not very exciting
so my brother and i were walking around some stores yesterday and i said i wanted to go look for some cool bowties
the first thing we saw was Claire's, so we took a look they had some clip-on ones, but those were clearly meant to be hair bows there were also some not-hair bow ties that had cheap plastic clasps, but those only came with suspenders, and i wasn't going to buy suspenders i don't need and a cheap bowtie for thirteen dollars
so we walked out and found a men's fashion store and looked at the bowties there those were actual good ones, and you could tie it yourself- which is what i was looking for but then i looked at the tag and it was $93
what the actual heck why is a little strip of fabric a hundred dollars there's no way it's worth that much. and i don't have a hundred dollars to blow on one little bowtie; that's just ridiculous.
so we walk out of there and complain about how ridiculously expensive it is just to look nice and then my brother's like, "how about you just make your own bowtie?"
so when we get home i look up online tutorials on how to sew together a bowtie and they're using words and supplies that are completely foreign to me and none of it makes any sense and i could probably figure it out but that's a lot of work and i don't think that's a project i can do right now

A bowtie for $90 is probably of high quality fabric and construction and should last at least one hundred, maybe even two hundred, wears, thus putting the cost-per-wear between $0.90 and $0.45. I would have gotten it were I in your position.

In fact, if you don't shut your fucking mouth and give me the neckties, I'd be in my right mind to unscrew my pommel and end you rightly!"

i like clothes and i'm also always low on money so i know where to buy cheap shit knowing where to buy cheap shit is a good skill It's a terrible skill. Buy fewer clothes but of higher quality. Instead of buying three shirts for fifteen dollars each buy one for forty five and I assure you it will last significantly longer.

Jumpers can be of good quality if they're made of cashmere, but t-shirts above $10 are by definition overpriced and jeans aren't attire appropriate for wearing for anything other than hard labour.
