In the shoutbox someone said that RPNation's LGBT community sucks because they get offended when people say that they dislike certain television shows and that started a conversation down there about how all communities are assholes with their own creeds and rules, and that got me thinking as to what ours are. Post below if you know of things off the top of your head that members of our community would get upset over that everyone else would just find insignificant.

Proper grammar, Mary Sues, and the length of a RPs OP.
Beyond that, nothing really sticks out as an overall community creed. There are just some minor, more personal things, such as my vendetta against spam.

Proper grammar, Mary Sues, and the length of a RPs OP. Most people would prefer proper grammar to informal grammar in formal essays and whatnot, though I do suspect that we are nearly alone in attempting to enforce proper grammar in colloquial conversations. Mary Sues are despised by film and literature critics as well as by us, but once again, I think we're the only ones who care about it in such a casual setting. The length of an RP's OP, however, I think is something unique to us - I have not once seen any professional film critics describe a movie as "too short". Beyond that, nothing really sticks out as an overall community creed. There are just some minor, more personal things, such as my vendetta against spam. Everyone hates spam.

I believe in one God the Father Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Cow, born of the virgin Bullshit ...
is this the right creed

One thing I find unique to us and to an extent RPF as well is that we're totally fixed on being a small, exclusive community. I've often seen talk about what's going on with members like Pawz and LNG who've left us, yet I haven't found any talk about how to get new members here.
And the reason I point out RPF is because that is where this community came from, and over there I've seen a good number of examples where we veteran RP'ers would shun and criticize the newer ones unless they were on our level (Which is, in my opinion, don't take it without a grain of salt, utter bull because we can't expect someone new to RPF (Roblox is still a kid's site and there are a number of kids who're still just trying to learn these things) to all of a sudden RP like we do).
Once more, however, this is solely my opinion and you shouldn't take it without a grain of salt.

Most communities full of people as pretentious as myself tend to take pride in exclusivity; it's not just us.

I don't know about you guys, but some new faces would be nice.

i wouldn't mind seeing some old faces again, but that's even less likely than seeing new ones.

unable, or unwilling?
personally, all of the times i've tried leaving, i've always come back because there was something or someone i didn't really want to leave behind. might not be the case for everyone but whatever

If I were to permanently leave I'd have literally nothing to do.

I could leave outright and I almost did, last year, but there's something about this community that makes me want to stay around (for at least a bit longer).

If I were to permanently leave I'd have literally nothing to do. I'm more or less the same. I'd have things to do, like, I could easily get a book to read and whatnot, but I wouldn't have any friends were I to leave here, and that is not an exaggeration. For me, the equivalent of sneaking out through the window to hang out with friends at night is staying up late on my laptop to post here when you guys are online.

I hate RPN and there's no other god damn place for me to put my shitty ISRPs, so I'm basically stuck here. Dominions, and my job as a moderator, are about the only things keeping me here in ernest.

More content will come, but only after Dominions has calmed down.

More content will come, but only after Dominions has calmed down. By that, I assume you mean until enough people have grown inactive on it within 5 pages that there are only two or three active threads? Because that always seems to happen to me whenever I try to post an ISRP.

I've found myself wibbly wobbly on whether or not I should just fuck off (especially since I was essentially the one who chased Pawz away) but really I'll probably just stay here until the people I actually give a shit about in this community leave, whom I will then attempt to keep in contact with.
Also, the LGBT community on RPN isn't all that bad comparatively to some fandoms, as there are quite a few which are completely toxic and push people away from an otherwise great product because said people don't understand their weird headcannons and shit.

communities and fandoms are alike in that the majority of the people in them are generally okay but there's always a few loud/obnoxious ones who chase everyone else away
with some exceptions

Instead I slip into a "favoritism" thing unconsciously where I post mainly on my favorite RPer's thread and then meekly post on everyone elses. And how the "favorite" is decided changes. I know it's a bad thing to do and I've been trying to work against by posting things in bulk, but as I said, it's something I do unconsciously. I didn't even realize I was doing it until I scrolled through some of my old stuff and realized I did it.

If you really feel guilty about that just write up an apology, public or private, and then if it's a public apology I'll send Pawz the link and if it's a private one I'll ask her permission to pass her email along to you and then if permission is granted you can send an apology that way. It may seem strange but almost nothing is as effective as an apology. By that, I assume you mean until enough people have grown inactive on it within 5 pages that there are only two or three active threads?
