I mentioned in one or two other threads that I have a highly versatile sports jacket that I've worn basically every day since I got it. I'd just like to demonstrate quickly how versatile a piece of clothing it is. First, here's the jacket itself, with a pocket square in it: Now, most people, when looking at a jacket like that, would think that it's something business- or school-appropriate, and it certainly is. Here it is again with an outfit that I'd wear to school: It also works as a casual item, which I can wear with a pastel shirt instead of a white shirt and an ultra-casual necktie (because as mentioned on another thread neckties are more comfortable to wear than not wearing neckties): |

i'm not a suit / sports jacket / formal wear kind of person, but..

That doesn't take away from the fact that wearing a sports coat with a tie for everything is overdressing. The pocket square just takes it to another level, too.
