Use this subforum/board to discuss the writing contest. Do not post replies onto the thread that contains the idea for the writing contest as it is locked, and, in general, try to avoid replying to locked threads unless it's absolutely necessary.

still want an answer though I will be no more likely to post on your thread if you win than if you don't because I have made up my mind that I will, just as soon as I sort out a few things with my face.

Can we have winners decided by a vote rather a single person? It would make the writing contests far more interesting and fair.

I ordered some of those things online because they can't be purchased where I live, but I'm not overly familiar with the assembly process.

I mean, sure, there have been artistic movements since cubism that have been much worse, but why the hell does everyone seem to think that cubism is trying to convey some deeper meaning? Three Musicians, for instance, is the kind of pattern I'd want printed on a coffee mug, not hung up in a museum and analyzed by serious art historians alongside the works of Da Vinci! And for Picasso's weird depictions of sex and nudity... Well, I wouldn't even want those on a coffee mug; they are just really weird!

Well, at least it isn't as weird as the fact that 4chan communicates almost solely using stale, overused memes.

I'm pretty sure if you told the creator of the artwork about the "true underlying meanings" behind it they'd just give you this really confused expression and either ask, "...Uh, are you okay?" or just say, "Dude. I did this when I was drunk. Chill." (except maybe not those exact words.)

Yes, but there is some art which is designed to be analyzed - Las Meninas by Diego Velazquez, The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, etc.. Why not just spend your time analyzing those instead of things not designed to be analyzed?
