Over breakfast my dad's girlfriend mentioned that she read something in the news about ROBLOX (I lied and said I hadn't played the game in years for complicated reasons I'd rather save for another day), and, out of curiosity, I asked what it was. She said that there were pedophiles on ROBLOX and thank god for me I said I haven't played it in years. After a long schoolday (I have tuition on Sundays for about four hours with a break for lunch) I decided to google the news for myself. www.plymouthherald.co.uk/dad-8217-s-warning-after-boy-sent-8216-sickening-8217-messages-from-strangers-on-roblox-game/story-30142364-detail/story.html , I think, is the news that she was referring to, though a cursory glance at the google search results for "roblox pedophile news" shows that parents are pissed off just as much as we are over those assholes who are supposedly "roleplaying", just for more obvious and arguably more noble reasons.
Now, I have three options. The first is I do nothing and proceed as if I couldn't care less. That's boring and selfish, though. Option two is I capitalize on this to get the remaining handful of people on RP to come here by saying "look, I reckon that 'bannanachair' will look better in your history than 'ROBLOX' given this recent news", which is even more selfish (I think). Option three is I email or PM the ROBLOX staff with this news story which they've probably already read and tried to get their PR team on and tell them to step up their game and, instead of trolling their own forums and banning those who voice opinions that are not theirs, that they actually look out for their corporate interests.
What are you thoughts on the issue?
