Explosions and the pinging of bullets bouncing off of metal are audible in the surrounding area as a soldier stands on his knees, staring at the sky with arms open, cursing this war. A boy comes up behind the soldier, retrieves the combat knife from his sheath on the side of his ballistic vest, and slits the soldier's throat. The boy smears the blood of the soldier on his face and grabs his pistol. Following the boy comes a wave of hundreds of soldiers wearing red and black armbands with the symbol "Λ" sewn into it, carrying rifles and small-arms. Over a mound of debris between two destroyed buildings is a man, without a shirt, wearing a velvet beret and waving a flag with a black backdrop and a red bell with a golden lion head sewn into it. He is photographed and later turned into a painting which will hang in the Naritiuyir, serving as a patriotic symbol and will inspire leaders to come.
This was the Bocraisan Revolutionary War. In 2096, the ethnic group of the Bocraisi wanted independence from Russia. Ever since the Chinese government in 2032 decided to quell the Tajik population in Xinjiang, the Tajiks have migrated into the Russian frontier. The Tajiks came in droves to Russia and settled in the Altai Republic. The Tajiks lived in peace alongside the Russians for two generations until a Maoist-Tajik community emerged from the Russo-Tajiks decided to convert many Russians in the Altai Republic to Maoism. Over the course of the next fifteen years (2069-2084), the Maoists would begin to express chauvinistic views and wanted to create a new Maoist state, while expanding their influence across Russia. The leader was Zhu Ming for the Maoist Revolutionary Party (M.R.P.). After cross-breeding between the Tajiks and Russians birthed the Bocraisi; an ethnic group with extremist Maoist beliefs and Eastern Orthodoxy at heart. In 2087, Zhu Ming led a group of Bocraisiote youths to raid an abandoned Soviet-era warehouse in Gorno-Altaysk, which resulted in thousands of AKMs, and AK-47s, a T-50 tank, and millions of 7.62x39mm rounds, as well as RPG-7s with a shipping container of 40mm rockets.
This led to the armament and radicalization of the Bocraisiote youths. Crime raised substantially in Gorno-Altaysk, with the M.R.P. becoming a prominent figure in the community and corrupting the majority of the police force in the local area. President Olegovich noticed the climbing crime rate in the Altai Republic and sent in the Russian Guard with armored vehicles and military-grade weaponry. Zhu Ming developed warehouses and abandoned buildings in Gorno-Altaysk into drug labs, factories, and storehouses for all sorts of illegal shenanigans. On February 14, 2088, a Russian Guard raid on the Blagontsovo Warehouse rewarded them with 40kg of cocaine ($920,000 USD), 20 AK-47s ($21,180 USD) and 50,562 rounds of 7.62x39mm rounds ($12,450,262.17 USD), overall Russian Guards seized $13,391,442.17 in assets, with eight Revolutionist casualties; 5 KIA, 3 wounded while the Russian Guard had one casualty, which was an officer KIA.
Tensions rose between the Russian government and the M.R.P. over the next seven years due to increasing regulations for the citizens of Gorno-Altaysk including a curfew and lights-out regulation. And instead of being arrested, those found affiliated with the M.R.P. were sent off to work in the gold mines at Krasnoyarsk in Krasnoyarsk Krai or were put in textile factories and were hardly paid if at all. W.H.O. reports that the living conditions that the Russians have placed the Bocraisi under are inhumane and unbearable. This has resulted in sanctions from the U.N., but no further action. In 2096, the M.R.P. had successfully raised enough funding to arm and armor a group of 10,000 Revolutionists as well as create a network across Russia to enact simultaneous terrorist attacks.
On April 13, 2096, the Revolutionist operation, "Operation: Red Harvest" went underway. In Gorno-Altaysk and across Siberia, the Russian Guard engaged in firefights with Revolutionists as well as many Russian assets being seized. As well as Saint Basil's Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Kolomenskoye, the Kremlin, Mariinsky Theatre, and Novosibirsk Zoo were all attacked. The European Medical Centre in Moscow was also attacked, with 132 citizens being held hostage under the command of 30 terrorists. And after the modernization of many of the M.R.P.'s assets and weaponry, the Revolutionists began to patrol along the borders of the Altai Republic; now deemed the Bocraisil Authority. President Olegovich wouldn't let this fly and sent in the Russian Army to deal with it. Thus began the Bocraisan Revolutionary War and on January 13, 2097, the Bocraisi obtained their independence from Russia after a year of bloody fighting. Zhu Ming became the Governor of Bocraisil Authority.
Over the next 42 years, the Borcraisil Authority erected borders around the former Altai Republic, Tuva Republic, Republic of Khakassia, and the Altai Krai and annexed it into the Borcraisil Federation, ruled by Chancellor Zhu Ming. With a Maoist dictatorship, the Bocraisi were brainwashed and focused on agricultural ventures. Personal electronics such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc. were seized and cannibalized to sell to other countries/organizations. What technology was left was hoarded by the government at the Nartiuyir in Gorno-Altaysk. Potatoes, beets, legumes, and corn were staples in the closed-economy. Essentially, the Bocraisiote currency was worthless. Although, the Borcraisil Federation was extremely corrupt, so when arms sellers, international narcotics traffickers, and money launderers. But through propaganda, torture, and brainwashing; the Maoist dream was on the rise. Although, 76% of Bocraisilians lived in poverty, and the corruption rate was worse than that of Somalia and North Korea's, as well as disease and infant mortality, being critical, many Bocraisilians just live simple lives, tending to the farm, selling potatoes to the Warden and earning some Federal Marks or Coins. Although, Eastern Orthodoxy remains the largest religion in Bocraisil and Maoism being the widely-accepted political system.
