NEW XCOM HEADQUARTERS: THE AVENGER
Our current roster is small. Few original XCOM soldiers remain, and most of them are delegated to emergency duty in case the Avenger is attacked like our old subterranean HQ was. On the active list, we have two Rangers, one Sharpshooter, one Grenadiers, and one Specialist. Hopefully we can acquire more soldiers later, but this will do for now. The Advent is in control of Earth. Many cities have been abandoned, or made into the glowing megacities that hold nearly one hundred percent of the world population.
The old Skyranger was shot down on a mission. Six of our best died. Hope was not lost though, since we managed to steal a small ship from the aliens, and made it the new Skyranger. Our first mission is in London, England. The old capital of the United Kingdom is one of the alien's giant megacities now, and the location of the first mission of these new rookies. Everyone will be going together for the first mission, though we'll split them up later.
Vigilo Confido.
-LONDON-
Everyone is on the new Skyranger. A small alien craft that many original XCOM soldiers died to retrieve, it is faster and stealthier than the old one. Everyone fits inside... barely. It is currently en route to London, and will arrive within an hour.

Gustavo checks his firearm. It's a bit rusty but it works just fine. After that, he picks a picture from his left pocket. In the picture, there is a woman. Blonde hair, white skin and blue eyes.

Harry fiddled with his sniper. After he heard the story of how the original XCOM hq had fallen, Harry had been on edge. He wanted to get out on his mission and try and kill the most he can kill, or be killed.

"London. Well, it could be worse. Terrorists aren't amassing dirty bombs, and satellites aren't making everyone kill each other."

"Indeed." Gustavo replies.

Ilyich stares out the view-port of the skyranger, pondering about the situation whilst fiddling with his rifle. Pretty much everybody in London would ironically hate the ones that tried to save them. It would be literately impossible to go in guns blazing; hopefully, it would thus be impossible for the other teammates to get too injured during the mission..

Kong ran on the treadmill, grunting as he neared the five mile mark. His average mile time was down by 11 seconds, and with XCom finally coming out of the dark he needed to be in top shape. His aim certainly was, and his mind just as sharp, but neither would matter if he couldn't get in position fast enough to make the damn shot. The treadmill beeped as he passed the five mile mark, taking his mind off things for a second to check his time. He was getting faster, but until he was back in peak form Kong Deng would not be resting. He continued running as his thoughts drifted back to the battlefield. (I know this hasn't been too active, but my XCom 2 hype is killing me, so I figured I might as well.) Voided. Read the OP, Skyranger setting is still on. Probably will land soon, assuming everyone is still wanting to do this.

Diana listed to the ship tumble with turbulence. She ran her hand up and down her personal drone. She felt it's sharp edges and parts, the slight outcropping where it's retracted machine gun rested. She had named it Donovan. She remembered building the first version, long ago, before this alien war.
Limp on her neck was a bandanna that she intended to pull up and over her nose when she got into combat, to protect her breathing from any dust particles.
"We're ready for this," she said aloud, smiling a little bit.

"I don't feel ready." Harry said. "Can't wait to die in a few minutes." Harry said with sarcasm. London, Harry thought. He had been to London before in his past, before the aliens. Harry shook his head, he should not stick to the past but hope for the future.

"Well, when I served for my home country, Laos," Her asian descent was obvious on her, "I didn't kill any humans myself, it was all Do- my drone,"
"So, you know, it's nice to only have to kill...Sectoids," She glances out the window.
