Hello, and welcome to www.partridgegetslucky.com! Here we plan on having intelligible conversations about topics pertaining to mathematics, science, engineering, science fiction, literature, and countless other subjects! To begin with our first conversation let's start with one of the following topics. 1. What do you think about overpopulation? Do you believe that the Earth is in danger or we're doing just fine? 2. Do you think that the legal drinking (of alcohol) age should be lowered? 3. What do you think about cloning living animals and even humans? 4. Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium?

1. What do you think about overpopulation? Do you believe that the Earth is in danger or we're doing just fine? We need to stop population growth long enough for us all to flee to space. After that: we should burn the Earth and leave it behind. 2. Do you think that the legal drinking (of alcohol) age should be lowered? Nah. Why bother? Alcohol doesn't have any benefits to health or creativity like many other drugs. 3. What do you think about cloning living animals and even humans? Fucking do it. Make braindead clones to harvest organs from, use cloning for reproduction instead of sex. As for other things, such as cloning people for the express purpose of creating slaves (sexual or otherwise), I cannot willingly condone them for fear of corrupting the collective human psyche and having a bunch of oversexed psychopaths running around ruining all my fun. 4. Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium? I do not so much believe it as hope it will come to pass. Without doing this, we're all doomed.

1. How to expect to stop population growth? Annual purges of largely-populated neighborhoods? Or limit how many children a family could have like they've done in China? 2. But shouldn't you be allowed to drink alcohol at the same time you're old enough to vote (in the US)? 3. The ethics of that sounds twisted. Do you really think human rights groups would stand for abusing said technology for harvesting their organs and not allowing humans to raise their own families, instead of implementing memories into an artificial organism so they could be stable in society? 4. I hope so too, but what kind of thresholds would we have to break to achieve this ambitious goal? And do you think that all the countries on Earth would contribute or would it be a second Space Race?

And do you think that all the countries on Earth would contribute or would it be a second Space Race? 1. I don't. Those sort of things I'll leave to the experts, I am a mere dilettante. 2. Is there a real reason why those things are related, or are they both arbitrary labels of mental/physical maturity not based in science? 3. You seem to be mistaken about how cloning would work. We could grow some of the organs to maturity, or otherwise make clones that were never sentient in the first place. Just empty husks, full of a bunch of harvestable, usable organisms. I'd say that the benefit for sentient human life is worth more than all the damage to nonsentient human meat-shells. And as for the reproduction part: I forgot to add the important corollary of "for all I care". And as for the third thing... what? Are you saying we should make empty husks that we can implant false memories into and make into another person? Wouldn't that kind of technology be put to better use than what amounts to making a flesh-golem? 4. I believe that the one-world government, overseen and kept in check by 'morally bound' AI, will allocate a good portion of existing resources to colonize another planet.

Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium? 1- Birth rates are still decreasing everywhere, and according to most statistics, shown to be entering a period of what's been called 'stagnation' or, more appropriately IMO, 'steadiness'. The population will still keep growing, although definitely not as radically as it did some 30 years ago. Earth is doing alright, though it's seen better years. 2- It depends. I know for a fact that would be shit here in Mexico because youth have no drinking culture. It's all 'get drunk on whatever gets you drunk'. If the country had a more advanced culture towards drinking in moderation, I wouldn't mind lowering it. 3- I'm all for animals, honestly, as long as the people cloning them can afford it and will provide decent standards of living. As for humans, it's difficult because while cloning them would be a great advancement to science, there's a lot of ethical gray areas; from the living organ banks that clones would be to their status in society, it's difficult to tell how the population in general would react to clones. 4- Within this millennium, yeah, I can see humanity existing in other planets within our solar system.

Recycle the humans and make robots that can think faster, hit harder and can survive anywhere, plus almost all defects will be removed. They are also practically immortal and can't have kids, meaning our population will stay the same and no rebellions will happen due to lack of divergence in ethics and ideals. 2. Yes, so I can drink red wine. 3. As I've said, replace all humans with robots. If we can't have robots, I'd at least like a clone society. 4. No, the robots will take over before them but the robots will colonize the entire galaxy so don't worry.

1. What do you think about overpopulation? Do you believe that the Earth is in danger or we're doing just fine? THE ABSCESS OF MANKIND WILL DESTROY AS OFTEN AS IT CREATES. WE ARE TRULY SHIVA IN THE FLESH.
2. Do you think that the legal drinking (of alcohol) age should be lowered? THE FILTH OF THE MIND. EVER GROWING AND EVER CLAIMING. A TYRANT.
3. What do you think about cloning living animals and even humans? DO YOU DOUBT THE ARTIFICIAL WILL MIMIC THE REAL? HOW MANY ALREADY CANNOT SEPARATE FACT FROM FALSE? TRUTH MEANS NOTHING. BELIEF IS YOUR GOD.
4. Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium? ON THE REVELATION OF ITS LONESOME, HUMANITY WILL CRUMBLE.
WATCH AS THE INFORMATION LANDSCAPE MUTATES, GAINING A LIFE OF ITS OWN, A VOICE, AN AGENDA. WHO IS CONSUMING WHO?

1. What do you think about overpopulation? Do you believe that the Earth is in danger or we're doing just fine? The majority of the growth is in third countries that are still developing, not really a problem when you consider that Europe and Americas populations both exploded during the industrial revolution and then leveled out at a certain point. Europe and Japan in fact are already having more people die then be born every year anyway. My prediction is that places like Sub-Sahara Africa and Southeast Asia's populations will explode and they'll industrialize while immigrants to Europe will keep their populations stable.
2. Do you think that the legal drinking (of alcohol) age should be lowered? In America it should really be lower then 21; instead it should be 18 like most other countries in the world. I don't even understand why people wanted it so high in the first place.
3. What do you think about cloning living animals and even humans? Animal cloning is great but cloning humans has huge morality issues. For example if you can really create a new human who's a exact clone of another person that asks a lot of questions. One being "are they the same person:" or possibly "Is it ethical to run tests on another human against their will." It's better to leave that Pandora's box closed for a while in my opinion.
4. Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium? 1000 years is a long time, we as people will probably fuck over the earth by then so I assume we would have to. Spacex is currently working on a ship that can go a 1/6 of the speed of light and NASA is desperately trying to reach Mars by 2030. I'll honestly be surprised if we haven't tried to terraform Mars and all the other moons by 3016 humans are too ambitious and curious not too.

Clones are different people, they have different experiences therefore making them different. It's like an alternate timeline version of you, it's someone you can really sympathize with but they aren't you.

1. What do you think about overpopulation? Do you believe that the Earth is in danger or we're doing just fine? Dangerous. We covered this topic in my Geo Hazards and Disasters class and this is surprisingly deeper than thought. Birthrates are declining, but I do feel like more can, and should be done. One would be to increase the quality of education and sexual education, particularly to the female group (I'm neither feminist nor sexist. Studies have repeatedly shown that higher education does, in fact, lead to lower birthrates. That is all I'm interested in.)
2. Do you think that the legal drinking (of alcohol) age should be lowered? Not really. Then again, as I choose to go out of my way to avoid drinking (And there were so many times I could've just given in and had a bottle), I can't speak with much authority.
3. What do you think about cloning living animals and even humans? It's interesting, but there are ethic issues. Not just with humans, either. There are ethics, even in an academic level, towards animal treatment. Mostly because of animal rights activists, who think the act of utilizing lab rats is inhumane.
4. Do you think that the human race will extend to other planets in our solar system within the next millennium? Definitely. Unless we're wiped out.
