The Age of Chivalry:
[/History\]
Two Empires, the Agathian Knights and the Mason Order, one continent. Both empires have HATED each other since before recorded history, which consists of war, bloodshed and death. Many kings have rose and many kings have fallen, all have had one thing in mind: to kill the other.
The Agathian Knights first landed on this strange new world from a now unknown civilisation lost in history, they pillaged and killed the natives in the name their God; Argon, and they had soon exterminated them. Villages and cities were built in place of the Native villages which sercured Agathian rule over the continent. A king was soon crowned, named Larthol.
Things were peaceful, for a while at least, that was until Larthol's scouts came back and informed Larthol of a large army of Natives that were hungry for revenge. He called another 'holy crusade' and went off to fight the natives.
This, unfortunately, ended in disaster for the crusaders. Sure, they stopped the native advance, but lost nearly two-thirds of their army, including the king himself. The generals started bickering with each other as to who should suceed him, as Larthol had no heirs but when the crusaders returned, they found a nasty surprise...
A new army, the Mason Order, had landed in the North about a week after the crusaders left to fight the natives. With no army to protect it, the Agathian empire fell within days upon the Mason's arrival.
A brutal war broke out with the Agathian's gaining a surprising amount of ground with the small army they had and they were able to replenish their armies with new recruits.
The war eventually turned into an intractable stalemate after the Agathian's intial sucess, which had split the land into two seperate countries: The Agathian Empire and the Mason Order. Decades have passed, and the war continues to this day.
But the Masons have been plotting, and have found a way through the Agathian lines; through the small village of Meed.
[/Setting\]
You're the leader of the Town Guard in the village of Meed and have been tasked with defending it. Meed is a rather small town with a keep overlooking it, the keep has couple of archers, looking bored out of their minds. You are sitting in your house, having lunch when a panicked villager bursts into youur home screaming at you, "The masons have found a way over the mountain and are trying to kill the villagers!"
You get up and run out to gather your men.

You have 400 gold to spend on your army. You'll gain access to more units as you progress.
Men at Arms (5 gold): Men at arms are your basic grunt soldier, armed with a broadsword and leather armour. Although cheap, nimble and quick they are very weak and are easily taken out.
Archers (15 gold): A cheap ranged unit that are meant to pepper the enemy with arrows. They have no armour however and are probably going to die if they come anywhere near an enemy.
Knights (55 Gold): Extremely heavily armoured men with longswords. They dish out damage and can soak up a lot of damage as well. However, they are extremely slow.
Vanguards(30 gold): The spearmen of your army, they start out with decent armour and a spear. Vanguards are good for taking out weaker units and horsemen.
[/Equipment\]
You have whatever gold you have left from your army to spend on equipment for your men. More equipment will become available as the RP progresses.
Broadsword [Men at Arms only] [FREE]: this is the bread and butter of any regular soldier, and is standard issue for all men at arms.
Spear [Vanguard only] [FREE]: A staff with a pointy piece of metal at the end.
Long-sword [Knight only] [FREE]: A large sword used by knights to slice people.
Bow [Archer only] [FREE]: Used by archers to pepper enemies with arrows.
Buckler [Knight and Man at Arms only] [5 gold each]: A wooden shield used to block incoming arrows and attacks.
Heater shield [Knight and Man at Arms only] [10 gold each]: A metal shield that can block very heavy attacks, but weighs you down.
Crossbow [Archer only] [5 gold each]: A crossbow has a shorter range than a normal bow, but a lot more damage.
Oil pot [Man at Arms only] [1 gold each]: A small pot that bursts into flames upon breaking.
Smoke pot [Man at Arms only] [1 gold each]: Creates a large smoke cloud that covers people from archer fire.
Double-edged axe [Knight only] [15 gold each]: A large axe used for chopping down weak and strong enemies.
Great Sword [Vanguard only] [10 gold each]: A faster weapon that gives the Vanguard a bit more flexibility.
