"How does one become worshiped? Truly worshiped I mean, in the way that mortals desire and gods cannot survive without. Music? Film? Art? Beauty? Power? Satisfaction? To have people give us their souls in the hopes that a flicker of themselves will be reflected back in our works, to have the responsibility of being loved but having to love back so much more intensely, to create nerveless to destroy what others have created for you to pave a new road. "
What an iconic speech, I just met some guy who was gonna get it tattooed onto his back..... some of people who've turned up tonight are right wackos but, hey I only speak for myself. Mmm? Yeah.
It's hard to say when the first "miracle" happened isn't it? Most of the first revelations were passed off as hoaxes or pranks, fickle things to make big money on social media. Glowing lights that could be passed off as CGI and clever camera angles at concerts, testimonies of lives that had been changed and the whispers of godly experiences in private fan meet ups. Most of the popular gossip was simply that- gossip, written in the dead of night to create petty arguments on the internet while the media continued to turn a blind eye to the growing bewilderment of the public. Then just before the rumours started to really seem like they were fake, about six months ago, came the "big reveal"
Ten idols from a different variety of platforms and genres, across the globe came forward on the same night at the same time to announce themselves as the "seconding coming" and named themselves "The Messengers". With that suprise the real phenomenon began; Mass possession of multiply bodies at once, making stadiums full of people faint, speaking in tongues, levitation, telepathy, telekinesis, blessings, healings, visions, telepathic communication, the list went on. The miracles came so quickly that people were overwhelmed for the first month or two, government (bless them) had no clue how to react but to merely accept the fact that The Messengers were here to stay. One would like to assume they've planned how to protect themselves in case something goes wrong, mind you.
On the other hand many people grew to hate The Messengers due to the impact that they had on religions and beliefs. God had been destroyed by a popstar with glowing eyes and the voice of Satan yet Atheism had been smashed by an artist who could cure you of illnesses you weren't aware you had. It truly seemed like there was no middle ground for the average believer though one Messenger when confronted gave the statement "It takes more belief to close your eyes to us then it does to actually see what's going on". This statement quickly became iconic within the followers (better known as the fanbase) of them lot and went on to become their mantra, spread across the bloody internet. Yeah, that's become a popular tattoo as well.
Nevertheless the world soon adapted, or at least pretended to, raising up a platform for their new gods, where these "Messengers" were more religious figures than celebrities. To extend their influence some of these idols went onto talk shows, news stations, any way to get themselves heard while others stayed more out of the limelight. At the end of the day though, they all ended up doing the same thing: creating their miracles for their adoring fans.
Then came the release of The Hallowed tickets, out of the blue with no marketing or warning at all, branded as the world's biggest gathering for miracles. About seventy percent of the tickets were fan priority, the other thirty percent were open to the public yet within a week everything was sold out completely, causing controversy and you guessed it- more publicity. Rumour is that the Hallowed is putting a whole load of stress on The Messengers which is ironic, they're basically Gods.
However you already know this, don't you? I mean you're here at The Hallowed arena check point for the first performance so I'll need to see your Identification Card if that's alright, we don't want just anyone walking in tonight. Yeah, the one that came with your tickets, silver flashy thing. You don't want to lose that or you'll be out of here quicker than you can say "miracles", security's on constant alert.

Also don't forget your map- wait you haven't picked one up yet? Jesus, it's a wonder you're not lost, here take a photo of mine on your phone. Okay, See the ten pillars surrounding the crowd, with the main-stage at the front? There's a pillar for each Messenger, they've got a house of congregation in each one- don't think of trying to get into one unless you've got clearance or an invite. West of main-stage is camping and parking, South is where we are now, about a fifteen minute walk from the arena, with more camping and East is stuff like food, merchandise, testimonies, interviews, you get the picture. Now off you go, there's more people waiting to get checked in.
Enjoy your evening and enjoy The Hallowed!
[*here you have the opportunity to be anyone from a diehard fan, to a journalist with behind the scenes access, to an undercover FBI agent keeping tabs, to one of the Messengers themselves as long as you're attending The Hallowed. As we continue we'll flesh out your character more so right now all you need is an idea of who you want to be. Think carefully which option you pick as it will affect how your story progresses and what view you get of the world.]
