It's begging to become comical just how often you put off judging this contest

Not that I disagree with a single judge (You are doing a good job) I just think there could be a more fun way of doing these writing contests.
We're a community why don't we have the community vote for the story they feel adheres to the specifications best while still being a good story. Problems may occur with popularity of certain members but I'm sure if it came to that we could work around it.
Last year I suggested the winner of the previous contest be the judge of the next one. That could also still work though would not in every case and does fall back into the single judge format. Instead, we could allow them to choose the criteria for the next contest (nothing stupid of course).
These are just ideas and I'm voicing them here because I want to get the community's thoughts.

I quite like your idea of having the community voting on the Writing Contest Winners. When I proposed the idea of reinstating the contests, I wasn't imagining myself as the long-time judge, although I do have a few prompts up my sleeve.

Cool, it would be quite interesting to try it out in a future contest.
