Your tribe settles near a small pond that seems to be unclaimed, what good luck you already found good land, ignoring the giants to the north of you.
Yes the giants who are known for being gigantic, 15 feet tall and could crush you in their hands. They're main reason no chose to live here.
Although I bet you can defeat them easily.
Status:
Owns small land near pond, unnamed
Neighbors are the Aaap tribe of Giants
Small army of 50 people

What are our surroundings? are there any trees, wildlife, or just in general anything interesting?
Have 4 men explore to the south to see if there is anything.

Mainly pine trees outlining what you own, the ground are bears and rabbits generally the rabbits come out to eat the shrubs and then the bears eat the rabbit; and the people eat both.
To the south is another human tribe called the Yenin, they probably would want to meet you but eh

Start cutting down pine trees and building homes around the pond, have some of our people try and catch the rabbits, setting up traps and such.
Is the soil any good for farming?

Yes you see carrots growing out of the cold ground, this should be a solid place to farm and build.
Your scientist are developing some sort of ranged weapon.
Rabbits began to be caught and eaten up as food; which seems to have annoyed the bears

Start growing carrots then, and using it as about 1/3 of our food. What is this ranged weapon?
Have 4 men explore to the west, while the rest of our settlers cut down trees and build a place to store our excess food.

They call it the "Ice-Bow" apparently it shoots ice out at people, your scientist are also quite literal.
To the west is some sort of cave perhaps good or bad can be found there.
Your discover a pile of nuts inside one of the trees

See if we can grow the nuts, and see if they're edible. Have 5 guys go inside the cave with prototype ice bows and torches, See if we can kill a bear, the coats would be useful for warmth.

The nuts when put into the ground tend to make more and more nuts, not even growing they just seem to pop out even your scientist can't explain this one. Eh free food I guess.
Bears have a tendency to maim anyone who comes near them
Inside the cave its dark and damp, but there seems to be a distant light your men will folow

Ice Bows, shoot them with Ice Bows
from a safe distance of course.
Do they taste good? Are they nutritious?
See how they are cooked.

When cooked it makes a weird tangy terrible smell, best described as the smell of cynanide, rotten almonds or a hooker's coochie.
They taste like nuts and have protein.
The ice bows seem to stop the Bears right in there tracks let's began the skinning!
The light appears to be coming from a rock, yes a rock

Is that the end of the cave? If not, explore further and have one of our guys take it back. If so, take the rock back and experiment on it, it might be mamaagiicmigc.
So cooked they suck, but normally they're good. Exploit the nuts so that we can use it to replace rabbits as our main source of protein. Store excess rabbit meat. Begin the skinning, and give the coats to our people so that when it gets frigid and such we will be alright.
