"Well, perhaps, if I ever get the chance to," Laren replied with a dreaming sigh, as she continued to step towards and into the figurative/literal gates of the campus, "I've heard and read so much about it, it would be quite a shame if I couldn't before the end of my life."

"Then the academy is your best bet. Those that show themselves as promising astral mages or stargazers are often invited inside the palace, and that process starts right here."

"Ah, alright," Laren said, attempting to confirm what she just heard, "So, it's more of a 'you're invited to this place', rather than something you're able to apply for... It's something you'd have to build up to." She's not certain of what exactly she thinks of that process, as it seems that'll make it much harder to go to the palace as soon as she would want to, but it makes sense? Well, at least it seems to make sense? Well, it's not something she's happy about, but it's not something she'd argue against either, if that makes sense! "Well, uh, excuse me if I'm being rude, but," she continued, her voice more eager than it had any right to be, "W-what would be the process for one to learn at the academy, then?"

"More or less. I don't recall any mages being brought inside the palace that weren't directly asked."
Thanasis looks up at the observatory as you think on what you've heard
"Well, to begin studying here you must apply. To apply you must come before a small number of proctors. You must display your knowledge and enthusiasm before these individuals to be accepted." He pauses "And just so you know, I'm one of those individuals, and I'd give you a pass. Though, to quiet your expectations, I am probably the most lenient among my cohorts."
