i have no talent
people keep telling me that you have to work to get a talent but clearly something is wrong
from 2014-mid 2015 my writing grew exponentially, and i started actually being a halfdecent writer who's actually competent at developing stories and plots
after that i flatlined. nothing about my writing has changed since then, and its just the same old bland edgy bullshit that just ets so boring its not even fun writing anymore
then i tried sports. basketball, football, man all of a sudden they were so fun to me! i was getting good at catching, i was getting faster, i was able to dunk, layups, and then all of a sudden i cant grow. sure now i can catch and i can run but im not getting any faster, im still struggling with keeping my eyes on the ball, i still cant shoot in basketball, i have shitty control of the ball in basketball. again i flat lined, and i might not even be able to play either of them anymore if my fucking piece of shit leg isn't right
meanwhile i look at the artists like purring pawz and ivy and their art style has improved dramatically, and it's always getting better. comparing they're old drawings to their new ones is just insane.
everyone else is getting better. i just start getting really good and then never get any better.
and it makes me jealous.
i try to feel glad for them, glad that they keep improving, glad that they might get somewhere because of their skills, but i feel so much jealousy towards them. i want to be like them, i want to keep growing, i want to be able to look at myself in 3 years and say "man, i used to be so shit, but now here i am!" but i will always be shit.
i can write 10 page stories every day and still be shit
i can run in the field catching footballs and shooting baskets all days and still be shit
no mater what i do im always going to be shit and at the bottom

I always thought I was talentless at everything besides being smart.
Then I started playing badminton.
It's an incredible game that seems so simple, yet takes strategy, agility and power.
I started playing a year ago, where I was the worst of my friends
But now, I played a match against my mate who loves the game and almost beat him 9-6.
So if you want some talent, look no further than badminton.

you improve less the better you are at something

you improve less the better you are at something basically this. Now, this can be remedied somewhat with some conscious effort to improve (you know, like trying new techniques and shit).

I can't say that I don't improve, and I've never quite heard of a situation like this before. But I'm incredibly self conscious about the quality of everything I can do. Writing, drawing, everything. I feel like it's not good enough or I get envious of what everyone else can do that I can't in those areas, and how everyone's always better than me.
So in a sense I know how you feel, I guess...But you can write fairly good.
And as for drawing if you want to get good at that, I know this is so cliche but practice really does make you better. I thought that was some bullshit that everyone said because I never got better with all the practice, but eventually I started drawing a lot, developed my own art style based off the various ones I had seen and liked, and I became a hell of a lot better.
Point is, even if you think you can't improve, that's wrong. You most likely will if you keep trying. It may take time, though.

I might not enjoy that, so I wont do it." The sooner you escape that mentality the better Do something that doesn't immediately interest you Trying new things is good anyway, and you might find that you enjoy it after giving it a whirl Don't go through life expecting to not enjoy something. Go through it with an open mind and the expectation that you might enjoy it
