I'm thinking I might write a story based on the board game Talisman. For those of you who don't know of it, it's a game made by the same company that makes Warhammer 40K, in which you choose one of fourteen characters from a fantasy setting and attempt to secure the Crown of Command for yourself. Over the course of the game you kill enemies, find items, gain followers and fight against other characters in an attempt to be the first to reach the crown of command. There are several expansions to the game, but for a story, I feel that they'd make it a tad bit complicated, so I'll stick with the base game. This link leads to the official website, from which you can read more information on the game, rules and expansions, and there's also a purchase option available for those of you who want to purchase it yourself.
Anyway, the story would be as close an adaptation of the boardgame as possible, to the extent where I reckon I might play a game against myself and photograph every single round, with every one or two rounds being the rough equilavent of a chapter in the story. I'd copy to the exact move each round, and, for those of you who play the game and wonder what the point is, I'd flesh out the characters and locations a lot more. For instance, I'd try to showcase the character dynamics between two followers of the same PC, the PCs and their followers, the PCs and other PCs, the PCs and the followers of other PCs and the followers of two different PCs to explain why they constantly fight when they land on the same square, why the followers decided to become followers to begin with and so forth. However, I can't decide which characters to use for the game, and decided that instead of drawing the usual manner I'd let you guys vote on it. I reckon I'll do a five-player story, but, if that seems like too many or too few, I can always change that to a more reasonable number.
