Who here speaks a language aside from English? And, on that topic, is English your first language? The reason I ask is because I'm considering maybe taking up a second language and I'll need someone to converse with (or at least type with), preferably something Indo-European instead of Chinese or Japanese or something of the sort.

I have three and one half months of learning how to speak Chinese, so I have a basic knowledge of the language. I spent seven years learning how to speak Mandarin and I gave up after managing to read a book designed for four year olds. Nowadays I remember a few very specific phrases but nothing else. For instance, "Wo ai de chi ren," or something of the sort, which means "I love to eat humans". (I don't quite know the correct pinyin, nor am I able to even recognize the majority of those characters nowadays).

I'm learning French next year but I know how to say a few phrases. Although, everyone knows what those phrases are.

I just downloaded duolingo, so I'll probably choose to learn a language from that. At the moment I'm thinking either Norwegian, Irish or Italian, but that could change on a whim.

If you're Dwagon, your ban should be up by now, assuming you're done with that little tantrum from the other day.

English=first language Spanish is the second I learned anything from, but all I know is how to count to ten and random words. including gato French is the third I learned anything from, but I only know a few things, chat being one German is my first real second language, but it's actually the fourth one I learned anything in. ,,Katze" ist eins von die Worten wissen ich.

English, German, and Arabic; not really fluent in the latter two, but I know enough to say I learned them.
I also know how to say random and/or obscure words in other languages, including how to say cat in... (cat, chat, gato, katze, koty, قط...) At least six languages.
