The Writing Contest III will continue indefinitely until the Thursday after someone submits an entry. I thought I stated that earlier, but the contest is still open and at this rate will continue to remain open for you to enter for a year or so.

If you can somehow find a way to link the two I'd be impressed, but I don't think that nuclear fallout would have anything to do with a story about a corporate executive with a double-life. |

Before the actual war in thhe game, businessmen, politicians, etc. etc. all tried to secure their futures after the inevitable holocaust. To do so, they employed drastic measures, like living underground, elongating life through concentrated radiation treatments, and even using their own brains as the CPU for robots. Or shooting each other.
my story is the one about them shooting each other

Why can't we have a poll on what topic we want to do? Because if I make a poll on the topic before the contest begins you would know of the topic before it begins and therefore would be able to start writing before the contest begins, which would give you an unfair advantage. |

I only say it because the other two contests had contestants while this one has not. If people are complaining about it now then surely it would be the topic. As as for the topic choosing it could be fun to have the previous winner choose the topic and select the winner that way you can join in Tim. |

But, of course, others may have a different mindset, which is fine. "The contest will end soon enough, and maybe when I see the next topic, I may join." Weeks later, the contest is empty and forgotten. You bring it up in saying that it won't end until someone does it. Suddenly, people decide to voice their opinion. Because they want a topic they like. Because at this rate, if they don't speak up, they may never get a contest here like this again. A smart guy like you should have been able to figure that out. |

I'm sorry, but those complaining about the topic are idiots. The point of a writing contest isn't to write exactly what you want, it's to see how well you can adapt your preferred writing style/genre to fit the contest. I consider modern to be a weakness for me, but I'm getting tempted to write something up just in spite.
