My mom is a fan of those games...
She got me hooked on those since I was five...
I recently finished updating Rift.
Does anyone else play MMOs?

MMOs in general, or MMORPGs?
Uhh, Neverwinter Nights I guess. It fits the acronym, and it has similarities to other MMORPGs.
There's also a bunch of shooters that I switch between every week or month, and a couple of RTS games, and more games that have the option of multiplayer but that I only do single-player on.

Rift is a pretty fun one for being free and not pay-to-win. I'd say that one alone aught to take up a good amount of time for you.

I know... I played the hell outta that game on my warrior (No, I don't tank. I don't know enough about the dungeons to do that crap (Besides, I really wanna play a rogue tank to see how fun that would be))...
And now there's a new expansion. @.@

I lost my ability to play right after that expansion. If you don't mind underwater BS, then I suppose it is a good one. And I was a warrior tank, haha. There's no better feeling than seeing a huge group of people at a zone invasion boss, all waiting for you, the tank, to run in and grab it. I always lead the charge as the tank, haha.

I loved the zone invasion bosses! I always fought those things first chance I got...
And then I realized that all zone invasions were virtually the same "Close X rifts. Kill X planar creatures. Kill Mega OP Raid Boss."
That is why I liked the one in Freemarch about Jacob invading Freemarch with his army of undead and Endless cult members. The sky, the number of enemies, everything felt like an actual invasion. I always got so pumped up.

Oh, for sure. They do change a little bit with the expansion zones, but not much. There are a couple fun ones where you get in mechs to fight the boss.
I remember the first time I realized the two factions aren't instant-enemies when I found myself being the only Defiant in an entirely Guardian-filled group for a zone boss (Seeing dwarves running around is what queued me that I wasn't among friends). They didn't seem to mind, considering the boss was beating me up instead of them, lol.

Wizard101, Pirate101 and Club Penguin are all that I play, although I might make an account on that one game that a friend of mine mentioned a few years back called Runescape.

I play World of Warcraft sometimes, and I used to play Aion. I tried Rift but I didn't really enjoy it.

@ Benzo
As a player who started Rift when it came out (My mom got into it and then got me into it (Yes, that usually happens in my family, the mother's a bigger gamer than the eldest son)), I can tell you now it used to be that the Defiants and Guardians were instant enemies. This changed when Storm Legion came out though.
@ Tarandadanus
I've never heard of Aion.

Ahh, yeah I was playing WoW up until shortly after Storm Legion, which is when I switched over to Rift. (Not why I left WoW; I left WoW because Cataclysm completely ruined the entire bloody game for anyone playing from Vanilla or BC)

Eh, player owned servers which means they can make all sorts of bloody changes to the game's function. I don't like private servers.

@ Tarandadanus I've never heard of Aion. You should check it out! It is free to play, and it has some interesting mechanics. It gets kind of grindy, but the end-game is pretty good.

Pfft, what MMO doesn't get grindy towards the end? It's that very concept of grinding that confuses me as to why people still play Destiny religiously.

For me, the grind in Destiny is just fun for some reason. I don't know, but I enjoy grinding. It is rewarding and the shooter elements make it more engaging than grinding in an MMO.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it was a fun game with RPG and FPS elements combined, much like Borderlands, but the actual story was waaaaay too short compared to the amount of grinding end game makes you do, imo. Then again, I'm the opposite when it comes to grinding; I get rather annoyed by it if it's too repetitive. The only times I've dealt with grinding is for games such as WoW, or Rift, when I'm tanking and a lot of guildies rely on me to stay geared up.

Mmm... I can handle grinding. I hate it, but I can deal with it.
What I hate are those areas where everything is so cramped together you can't go one foot without triggering an aggro and when you fight you're about to win when two more mobs aggro.
Once I defeated a mob only to have another one I defeated respawn right there.

And that's why I love being a tank, haha. It doesn't matter if it's ten mobs, I'll still live just fine. Or hell, I can even just run through thick areas without too much worry.

Eh, we make up for it by our fights taking bloody forever. But I do love how many times I've had groups get wiped on a boss special of sorts, me still standing and hacking at it, and manage to stand on my own long enough for them to run back from the grave and lend a hand. Just bloody glorious, haha.
EDIT: Let me also say that tanking on Rift is probably my best tanking experience. I can pull the most healing done in any PvP match just because of one spell I have; It heals 10 raid/party members for the entirety of my health. With a 100k+ HP person... that's a looot of healing done with only a 2 minute CD. (Last I played, at least. Wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed it by now.)

One of my best fights wasn't in an MMO, but in Dragon Age: Origins. I had decided to try my luck with going through Orzammar after the Circle Tower for the XP, but then I reached the Broodmother boss (If you haven't played this game, it's a gross looking thingie that summons mobs. Yeah...). Two of my companions, Liliana and Wynne, who were my support and my healer, died and so it was me, the DPS, and Alistair, the tank, up against a boss who hadn't even lost half her health. The fight drags on and on and I died, but the boss was almost dead and then Ali killed her. That is why I hate tanks. They just don't give a crap.
And that heal... My lord, what souls were you using?

I think it was the Paladin soul, or whatever name they gave it. Because the only thing better than being a tank, is being a self-healing tank, lol. I honestly can't kill a thing in PvP, but it's hilarious to get three or four of a ten-man team all trying to kill me while I just spam self heals; I die, but not before the rest of my team does what they need to do.
And aye, I know Origins, haha. I actually just started a new game a week or two ago while I wait for Fallout 4 to come out.

Don't worry. I rarely ever get a PvP kill as a DPS. I'm more used to dungeons and raids... >.>
I love Origins... My second favorite because of it's intense autonomy. :3
Coincidentally, however, my favorite game is an old PS1 JRPG with no autonomy whatsoever.
