The shoutbox is causing what people say to disappear and it is causing people to use this site as an IM site rather than a forum.

If people want to save what they say they should screen shot it. A place which is allows idle chat outside of threads is a good thing and the shoutbox fulfils that.

For instance, it's impossible to report something on the shitbox - There has to be a staff member monitoring it at all times. I mentioned several other examples in the OP, which I recommend looking at now, but I do not see how it is "causing no harm for anyone whatsoever". |

Sorry but I really don't and it is hardly impossible to report stuff on it. Yeah, it may be harder than usual but a simple screenshot of an issue can be sent to an admin to deliberate on. I enjoy posting there at times and it really is harmless if used correctly. |

Reports for the shoutbox can be screenshotted and sent to an admin, and unless it gets sent to an admin that's either drunk, lazy, or inactive it should be taken care of. |
