To absolutely destroy the argument of somebody who's being a complete dick and leave them speechless? It's pretty nice.

An American came up to me a while back when I had went to California and said that the Americans and French were better than the British in every way because: "The French had the balls to have a revolution against their dictator monarch." 

That made me laugh, a honest to goodness laugh before I informed him about the English Civil war and how England briefly was a Republic nearly a century before the French Revolution. But, because Oliver Cromwell was a dictator they wanted their King back. I also pointed out the fact that France started out with a dictator king and ended up with a Dictator President (Napoleon).

He proceeded to call me a religious dickwad and how my 'Church' had brainwashed me, even though I had said nothing about being religious in any way. I told him that I was an Atheist and that his argument was invalid because he had resorted to name calling.

He didn't say a word, turned around and walked away.

I also would have pointed out some other things such as the magna carta and the fact that nowadays the Queen is more or less just a figurehead while it's the prime minister and parliment that do the governmenty things.

I like how one revolution makes the French better than the British in "every way." This person clearly knows nothing about history as the Reign of Terror (Led by the revolutionaries) between Louis XVI and Napoleon was perhaps more oppressive than either leaders were when they were in power. Besides even though the British monarchy is still in place it neither has the power it once had or is oppressive like those which cause revolts among their people.

England's monarchs had their power crippled since the signing of the Magna Carta.
